Ok, who else is seriously losing hope for Pixar? I mean, look at this:
2012: Brave
2013: Monster's Inc 2.
2014: Cars 3???
2015: Toy Story 4???
TBA: 1906
There's only 2 original movies coming up that are Brave and 1906. Rest of it are all sequels! It's like Pixar is losing its "magic", originallity, and creativity that they have to make sequels/prequels to make a living.

^^^ 1906 is a live-action film based on the San Francisco earthquake of that year, not really subject matter for an animated film. And there is no confirmation that there will be any more sequels to Toy Story and Cars aside from actors speculating in press junkets and as Tom Hanks said, no one outside of Pixar knows what they're planning so everything at the minute is unfounded speculation other we have confirmation otherwise. As well as Brave, there is the mystery film Pixar are releasing in 2013, apparently being directed by Pete Docter that will be an original film.
We're not going to Guam, are we?
i can see cars 3 only having token appearances by mcqueen, with mater being the lead character.Polizzi wrote:What's next for, "Cars 3?" Lightning McQueen races against aliens from outer space who want to race against Earth, and if Earth loses, the aliens take over Earth? Just a thought.

I was pretty skeptical about watching Cars 2, but I went to watch it last night after my brother and his girlfriend recommended it. I wasn't really feeling the movie the first 15-20 mins until Mater came in the story, then it I started to enjoy the story a bit more. Cars 2, like all the other Pixar films has a good message and pulls on the heart strings. It is really cute and fun to watch. I def think it is better than part 1. Go watch it and decide for yourselves.
Neither Cars 3 nor Toy Story 4 is reality at this point. And don't forget John Carter, which isn't Pixar-branded, but since it's written and directed by Andrew Stanton, it is practically our first live-action Pixar movie. Hopefully it's up to their usual standards. There's also another 2013 movie which I imagine has to be an original project.disneyprincess11 wrote:Ok, who else is seriously losing hope for Pixar? Whoops, missed the post by DisneyAnimation88, which basically said the same exact thing.
"Fifteen years from now, when people are talking about 3-D, they will talk about the business before 'Monsters vs. Aliens' and the business after 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' It's the line in the sand." - Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president
To be perfectly honest with you all, I can't help but think that these sequel claims are nothing but troll comments created to upset fans because of all the anti-hype going around with Cars 2.
Think about it. Isn't it weird that just as Cars 2 has been declared "THE WORST PIXAR MOVIE EVAR", all these sequel news pop up, causing people to panic and worry about the state of the company?
Kind of suspicious don't you think?

Yeah I mean come on, the only confirmed sequel we have after cars 2 is Monsters university. That's it. By the time any of these get announced (IF they even do) we could get twice as many original movies for you know.pap64 wrote:To be perfectly honest with you all, I can't help but think that these sequel claims are nothing but troll comments created to upset fans because of all the anti-hype going around with Cars 2.

You may be right about "Cars 3" being generated by Trolls, but the "Toy Story 4" bit came from something Tom Hanks said in passing.pap64 wrote:To be perfectly honest with you all, I can't help but think that these sequel claims are nothing but troll comments created to upset fans because of all the anti-hype going around with Cars 2.

That said, of course there is nothing official from Pixar, and I'd bet even if these titles do ever get made, it will be a few years. I'm think the shorts based on both franchises is what will be focused on right now.

Lasseter gets asked about Cars 3. If there was really nothing in the works, he would have flat out denied it.
Source: https://youtu.be/bHc_Svm_EiU?t=2mQ: So, you've had so much sucess with Toy Story 3, do you think we could see another installment of the Cars franchise?
John Lasseter: I can't say anything right now, but we just hope everyone loves Cars 2.

Re: Pixar's Cars 3?
It looks like a third installment won't be happening anytime soon. I bet I scared you there for a second.
Source: http://www.examiner.com/article/larry-t ... ly-americaQ: Have you heard anything about Pixar making “Cars 3”?
Larry the Cable Guy: I wish I had. I have no idea. All I know it’s a great movie series and it’s good enough that they started their own theme park [at Disneyland]. I'm just happy to be a part of whatever they want to do, but I have heard no rumblings whatsoever. If they do, I'm excited. If they don’t, I’m happy for what we got.
I never thought in a million years that I'd do a Pixar movie, let alone two of them and that I'd be top billing in one of them. That’s up to John Lasseter. I know that John does not make movies unless he really believes in the movie and it’s going to be a really good script. I know that “Cars” is his baby though.

Re: Pixar's Cars 3?
Don't you ever do that again.
But this is good. I guess Cars 2's Box Office disappointment played a key role in this. No one wants these films anymore. They should figure out other ways to sell toys.
