Note to ICE FLASH:
You must be one of those who believe that the "Survivor" series and "Great Race" are also done live, and they aren't.
They don't pay these people enough to be cooped up on a show with other people for such an outrageous long time.
While Big Brother is taped and all the "live" feeds are available on the internet 24/7, you have to remember that this is commercial television and time is paid for by those sponsors that are part of the program.
Think about it! How are all of the episodes chronicled as to what is going to happen each week? They are edited for time, for language, and for content, which means they are taped ahead of time. And don't fool yourself for one minute, those "live" internet feeds are the same way, except they don't have breaks for commercials.
Having worked in the industry of television programming I know very well a lot of the people involved in these shows, and the majority of these so-called reality shows are taped in advance to allow for storylines, and re-shoots for continuity.
Shows like "American Idol", "The Voice", "America's Got Talent" tell you up front whether they are live or on tape, and we all know, at least I do, that the audition shows are all pre-taped and edited for entertainment value. And when they are "Live" they are live for the East coast and Central time zones only. The rest of the U.S. gets the shows on tape delay.
If you like shows like "Big Brother", that is great. You are the target audience they are looking for (notice I didn't say 'sucker') and go ahead an enjoy it for what it is - entertainment. But as for me, I would rather watch something else that is on that I like that entertains me, which shows such as "Big Brother", "Survivor", "Great Race", "The Bachelor", and "The Bachelorette" don't interest me in any way shape or form.
Jeff Probst, host of "Survivor", lives in Wichita, Kansas and I see him quite often, and he only spends three months of the year working on 'Survivor" because he gets paid very handsomely for it.

Big Brother is not Survivor or the Amazing Race.dvdjunkie wrote:Note to ICE FLASH:

I find it hard to believe Big Brother isn't done live when they literally have "LIVE" on the screen on eviction night AND post-show they have viewers Tweet the "Saboteur" things to do to the other house guests and they do it. America votes on who gets special powers such as the coup d'etat.
Seeing as the online 24/7 live feed is a paid subscription, it really not being live would be grounds for a lawsuit. The TV shows are edited from what's recorded in the house. IMDB members have complained on the forums about some people getting unfair edits while the the unedited live feeds show a different picture.

Look, we don't need to argue about this stupid program that I hardly ever watch, and avoid like the plague that it is for television entertainment. But you just contradicted yourself didn't you?:
How can a live show be edited. Of course, the television screen has a "Live" on it, because it was done live, that doesn't mean that it is broadcast live. Think about it.
Sure you have to subscribe to the internet feeds, that is how they make their money from your people who are easily led down the path of throwing money away at whatever might be good. The feeds are recorded live and, as a rule, are unedited. They never say that it is actually happening right now, do they?
You can argue about this all you want, but since I have worked on a couple of the so-called "live" shows for Fox, I can tell you that these types of shows are not done live, or else they couldn't be shown, because of the use of foul language, gestures, and certain things that are obscene for television. Just enjoy the show, if that is what you want to do. As for me, there are much better things to watch or do than waste an hour of my day with this so-called 'entertainment'.

The show airs three times a week. Only one of those days is live. The eviction night and during the course of that show it says "LIVE" at the top corner of the screen. The other ones show edited footage from the events of previous days summarizing the past couple of days (competitions, etc). Those who pay for the live feed get spoilers as they happen before they are aired (which I'll add a spoiler note to this thread title once it starts for that reason). Fans have flown over the Big Brother house with banners telling secrets to the house guests about each other (alliances, etc) that only we know.dvdjunkie wrote:Look, we don't need to argue about this stupid program that I hardly ever watch, and avoid like the plague that it is for television entertainment. Let's cut this argument short. If you live anywhere on the West Coast you don't get anything but your local news "live". If you live in the Mountain Time Zone you only get certain things live.
NFL, NASCAR, NBA, and most other sports are about the only thing you ever get "Live" on the West Coast.
So you just go ahead and believe what you want, I tired of trying to get you to understand a basic rule of television.
And nothing I can say will make any difference any way, because you will probably watch "Big Brother", and will be entertained. Just go for it!!!

There is. It's on CBS.com. It requires a paid subscription.ajmrowland wrote:I this can only be settled if anybody here can prove that there's a 24/7 live feed on the internet. The TV version is simply edited from previously recorded video.
Here's the site that is linked from the big brother site at cbs.com:

Well, the show starts tonight. I saw some pictures of the cast, and most of them looked older than the castmates last year. And there seemed to be fewer people actually (I think it was 6 or 8 people).

Listening to most often lately:
Christina Aguilera ~ "Cruz"
Sombr ~ "homewrecker"
Megan Moroney ~ "Beautiful Things"

That's because the rest of the cast are surprise duos from past seasons.Disney's Divinity wrote:Well, the show starts tonight. I saw some pictures of the cast, and most of them looked older than the castmates last year. And there seemed to be fewer people actually (I think it was 6 or 8 people).

Sorry, I tried to watch this last night, but it was boring and nobody can act, and you can tell that it is scripted, or at least outlined, so they know what to say and not say.
East Coast and Central time zones are the only ones who got this show live. The rest of the country gets all the shows on tape delay, even the supposed 'live' dismissal shows.

Watched the first episode and tonights. I"m curious as to who left the game and what will be done about that, personally I'm assuming that the partner will get the free ride automatically to top 10 or something.
Also I like Jeff and Jordin far better than the other two couples.

Good job not being spoiled. I don't mind it sooo much as in years past I've read recaps of the live feeds. Sadly, this time I've yet to do that and it was every news place it seemed I go on that spoiled who the leaving guy or gal was in the title of the article.Chernabog_Rocks wrote:Watched the first episode and tonights. It is interesting how they'd make it work. Oh and I think Jeff loves himself too much and Jordan is an idiot but out of what we have for returning couples it's really picking the lesser of three evils.Chernabog_Rocks wrote:Watched the first episode and tonights. I added a spoiler warning to the title. Hope that helps.JiminyCrick91 wrote:Good job not being spoiled. I don't mind it sooo much as in years past I've read recaps of the live feeds.
