Long gestating projects are always interesting to me. How do they keep steam when so many other Hollywood projects die a quick death? How come this property has been on the cards for 10 years and survived multiple creative shake-up’s? Is it some executive or producer’s passion project? Does the studio just really believe in the premise?

If the movie ever comes out, maybe it will be worth it.

I guess "Bob: The Musical" is to Disney what the "Uncharted" movie is to Sony Pictures and the live-action "Akira" movie is to Warner Bros. It is a clever premise for a movie, so I can see why someone at Disney is passionate about getting it off the ground and unlike those other decade-long gestating projects I mentioned, it's at least an original idea.

It's also wild looking at the many updates over the years in the first page of this thread. Especially the mention of Lord and Miller's involvement back when they were only known as the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs/Clone High guys. And now look at them!
