I don't know whether to thank you or say you're welcome. :P

Anyway, I've got all of them.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Mom bought me this the Friday after release date, I believe, from Eckerds of all places before it was changed to CVS. It was a bit of an early birthday present along with a Harry Potter View Master. I was completely blown away by the restoration and supplements despite buying DVDs for a year and a half by this point.

Beauty and the Beast - Bought this for myself from Spec's before it was changed to FYE and bought Schoolhouse Rock alongside it. I don't remember when exactly I got it, but I do remember watching it and SHR all in one day, so I must've been off from school (Columbus Day?).

The Lion King - My sister bough me the giftset for my birthday alongside The Matrix Reloaded. Despite being 29 when she got me this, the clerk at Best Buy carded her because of the Matrix purchase.

Aladdin - Bought this for myself at Spec's on Halloween alongside Mulan. Since my sister's neighborhood was having a Halloween block party (and they had JUST moved in about a month prior), I watched the DVD for the first time at her house while gorging on candy. Great night.

Bambi - Bought this the weekend after release date with my sister while at Best Buy (wow, she factors a lot into these stories), and I believe I bought The King of Kings at the same time.

Cinderella - My mom bought me this at Walgreens on release day while I was at work (what is it with her and buying from pharmacies?). I managed to cram in the film itself and the "making of" documentary before heading to my History night class, and I can tell you I wasn't paying any attention at all, too eager to get back home and watch the rest of the DVD.

Lady and the Tramp - Bought this release day at FYE (formerly Spec's) on my way home from work and received a Lady plushie. It was a weird afternoon since my day at work ended with two boys getting into a fight in the parking lot and my having to call 911 since one of them got injured (but not seriously). What a way to get me in the mood for the film...

The Little Mermaid - Bought this on release day from FYE and was able to watch everything that day since I wasn't working at the time.

Peter Pan - Again, another FYE release day purchase. Because I was the first customer of the day to buy it, I got a mini film frame and card of the Lost Boys, and the clerk and I got into a discussion over how animation isn't appreciated enough.

The Jungle Book - Same as the above two minus the teenage fights and free goodie.

One Hundred and One Dalmatians - Bought this release day at K-Mart while on a lunch break from work. This was also one the last DVD purchases I made before switching to Blu-ray.

Sleeping Beauty - I was sick with a head cold that day, and took the day off of work. That didn't stop me from heading over to Wal-Mart to buy this along with The Nightmare Before Christmas, both on Blu-ray. This was one of the most incredible experiences I've had, yet, with high-definition.

Pinocchio - I swung by Best Buy on release date on the way home from work. My dad was watching something in the living room and at the time, this was the only place we had a BD player. So I waited till, like, 11 pm that day to finally pop the disc in. It was worth the wait.

Not too many, honestly. I was content with my VHSes until around the time the Blu-Ray releases started coming out. Since I started collecting then, I missed out on getting all of the originals as they came out, baring Sleeping Beauty, which I got from Target when it was on sale for $20, and Pinocchio, which I got opening day at Best Buy alongside the 3D cup.

I did get leftover copies of Peter Pan and 101 Dalmatians from Target after they were supposed to enter the Vault, mostly for the DMR points, and also got a used copy of Aladdin in case we don't get a better release for it. Otherwise, I'm just going to wait for the new release for the rest of the Platinum titles to be rereleased.

Sorry my stories aren't as interesting as you guys, but I'm still catching up.

I've got 7: SW, BatB, TLK, Peter Pan, Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, and Pinocchio. I'm happy with what I have, no real interest in getting the others.

The trick is to make sure something silly happens when you buy a movie. And if not, then just make something up.

For example, when I went to buy Chicken Little on DVD, a homeless man leapt out from behind the televisions and told me that CGI films cause cancer. He then proceeded to stomp on the DVD until it was unplayable and then offered to buy me a cup of coffee. I graciously declined as I dislike coffee, and he went about his business. I then picked up another Chicken Little DVD and ran like the dickens out of the Electronics Department.

Did that really happen? Maybe, maybe not. :P

Sadly... I only own two of the Platinum sets :( .

Snow White: I was out with my father on a doctor's appointment when we stopped by Wal-Mart to pick up some stuff. Luckily I had saved up 20 bucks so I bought the DVD...and had it hidden on my pockets. Why? Because at the time I was "ashamed" of my Disney fandom. A shocker, NO?

Even funnier, this was a big blind buy because the last time I had seen Snow White was in 1994 when I was a kid, and had no idea of the movie was good or not. Well, that afternoon I saw the movie and loved every inch of it. I was also obsessed with the extras. It gave me a whole new appreciation towards animation and the film itself.

Beauty and the Beast: This was a black Friday buy. I got it alongside Animal Crossing for the GameCube. I had seen the movie already so I knew it was going to be great. I did notice something off in the colors...Oh well, it's no big deal anyway... :P In all seriousness, though, that was the best holiday season ever... Playing GameCube and watching Beauty and the Beast.

Every other release I rented from the video store. Luckily many of them included the second bonus disc so I could watch the extras as well. To this day, my favorite Platinum is Aladdin. Not only do I love the film the extras were phenomenal, even the superfluous kids stuff!

Let's see.... I have the following in order of release:

Beauty and the Beast
The Lion King
Aladdin
Cinderella
Lady and the Tramp
The Little Mermaid
Peter Pan
The Jungle Book
101 Dalmatians
Sleeping Beauty
Pinocchio

The only ones I didn't get were Snow White (which was really due to the fact that my family didn't upgrade to DVD-watching until the summer of 2002, and I got the Diamond Edition of it last year) and Bambi (which I'll hold off on till the Diamond Edition)

I own all of them, including both the DVD and Blu-ray releases of Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio.

I intend to continue buying Diamond editions (and those closely related). I just accept the fact that I'm probably going to re-buy Disney classics for the rest of my life as it is.

Okay, so Now I'm gonna list how I got all of the movies.

Snow White-release day, I think. Likely at Target. Probably asked my parents for it. so far back. you know you're getting old when you're childhood memories fade like this.

Beauty and the Beast-likely the same as above.

The Lion King-EDIT: now I remember! I preordered it from Disneyland last time I was there. Got the pin and stuffed Simba with the preorder.

Aladdin-I got the Gift Set at Best Buy, cuz I actually had enough money for it.

Cinderella-purchased recently from a third-party on amazon along with The Sword in the Stone, Lady and the Tramp, and the Aristocats(which still hasnt come yet). Giftset.

Lady and the Tramp-same as above.

The Little Mermaid-Best Buy, release date.

Peter Pan-after a rental around release, I made a purchase of it about january 09 with the POTC: At World's End blu-ray.

The Jungle Book-early 2009 purchase at Barnes 'N Noble. the Rewards code had long since expired.

101 Dalmatians-got this within a couple months of release. Cant really remember where. maybe Target.

Sleeping Beauty-Walmart, Release Day. I had already seen the insanity of this board.

Pinnocchio-Toysrus, Release Day. dunno if I had a coupon for it. plus, it came with a cool water bottle.

Amazingly enough, not one of these was a gift. you'd think people would know me better. :P

Beauty and the Beast (December 2006) - Found it for 15 dollars at a different Pawn Shop in town while I was out Christmas Shopping

I have all of them.

Snow White - 1 week after release
Beauty and the Beast - April 03
Lion King - release day
Aladdin - 3 days after release
Bambi - release day
Cinderella - 1 week after release
Lady and the Tramp - release day
Little Mermaid - 3 days after release
Peter Pan - release day
Jungle Book - release day
101 Dalmatians - release day

It took a week to get Snow White & Cinderella because I was living with my dad at the time, and he wouldn't get me those because he thought they were girl's movies.

I started purchasing the Platinum Editions in 2006 with The Little Mermaid. I then bought all of the previous titles that were still in print (Aladdin, Bambi, Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp), and bought the rest of the titles the week that they were released. I found a gently-used Snow White last year, and decided to wait for the Diamond Edition of Beauty and the Beast. I'd also planned on waiting for the Diamond Edition of The Lion King, but I'm getting impatient so I'll probably snatch it up on eBay sometime soon.

I have all of them as well.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - My mom purchased this, Shrek, and our first DVD player a day after the DVD's release from Kmart.

Beauty and the Beast - When this was released, I hadn't decided to re-buy the disney films on DVD yet. A year after it's release, after getting The Lion King PE and Sleeping Beauty SE, I decided that I needed it. After finding out that it had been put back into the vault, I thought I'd never find it and have to wait for it's re-release. A week before Christmas 2003 I walked into the Disney Store on Michigan Ave in Chicago and found 2 copies of it on the shelf. I got them both because a friend of mine had also been looking for it. I kind of took it as a message and bought the rest of mine the day of their release.

The Lion King - I bought it the day of it's release as well as the Sleeping Beauty SE. I was in a production of Fiddler on the Roof at the time and picked them up from Kmart. I put them in my backpack and went into rehearsal (it wasn't in the best neighborhood, so I brought them in with me). While I was at rehearsal and noticed one of the kids from the show putting copies of them both into their backpack. Since there were just released I didn't think much of it until I got home and they weren't in my backpack. The next day at rehearsal I confronted the kids mom and she returned them both to me.

Aladdin - I picked it up from the wal-mart near my university (it was my freshman year) at midnight.

Bambi - I picked it up from wal-mart at midnight. I was really ill though and had already missed 2 weeks of school. It was the only thing I had left my room for. After this visit the wal-mart people started to remember me because a lady from the electronics section had to dig through boxes looking for it, while i looked like i was dying lol. They also recognized me from coming out with friends at midnight to pick up any other Disney release.

Cinderella - Another midnight Disney run to wal-mart. This time they had a copy waiting for me at the electronics desk, along with a coupon. I loved that wal-mart.

Lady and the Tramp - The same as above.

The Little Mermaid - The same as above, but I organized a big group of people (12) to go out with me, and we had a little release party for the film because Jodi Benson graduated from our school.

Peter Pan - I picked this up at midnight par usual, but the lady that used to set them out for me quit. So I had to get another person to get it out for me because it wasn't on the shelf yet. I also had to get on a bus to Miami at 4am the next morning with my choir, and I had a bad sunburn along my entire backside after a misadventure tanning... It was a bad night, bc this PE sucks on top of that lol.

The Jungle Book - I got at midnight and had to harass someone to get it out for me. luckily I had befriended a lady that usually worked the checkout those nights and she started saving the coupons for me! I was happy again!

101 Dalmatians - At long last, after years of building my collection, this film completed my DAC on DVD collection. I picked it up at midnight and had a party in the bedroom of my fraternity house for it. It was also me last semester at Millikin University, so it was special timing.

Sleeping Beauty - This is my favorite DAC ever, and I was super stoked it was getting a PE release. I worked at the Disneystore outside of Philadelphia at the time and reserved my copy of the BD there, although I didn't have a BD player. I just had to make it my first BD! lol When I went to pick up the DVD version at my local wal-mart at midnight but it was closed, I then went to the next nearest and they didn't have it out and they were telling me that due to a shipping error they didn't get it. I was kind of panicking, bc it was tradition for me by then to get it at wal-mart (stupid, but I had been waiting so long for it). I asked where the next nearest wal-mart was and it turned out to be about 40 mins away. They called them and they said they were putting them out so I went. I finally went to check out with it but then the register lady paused... for some reason she needed to see my ID in order to check it out, like it was an R-rated film, lol.

Pinocchio - I had moved back home to IL, and was able to get it at midnight no problem from my local wal-mart. I got both the DVD and the BD.

The Platinum Line actually played a big role in my life as a Disney fan, as well as my college career lol. I kinda miss it, but I'm looking forward to the Diamonds! :)
