It's pretty obvious they're going for the same style as last year's Toy Story and Toy Story 2 (and for the Cars reissue). Good to know that they've got the DVD bonus features plus some new stuff (it will be a two disc Blu-Ray after all), but shame that there's the awful yellow border that The Princess and the Frog had.

It's strange that they've started trying to do this all of a sudden with the re-releases. I mean, I like uniformity and all, but they can't expect all of the covers to follow the same format. Plus, they skipped over A Bug's Life, so it's not like they're following a standard rule for EVERYTHING.CampbellzSoup wrote:I don't understand whats going on with the whole split thing...it's really unflattering as far as covers go...
It's hard for me to picture Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, and WALL-E with these split covers, should they re-release them as Blu-ray/DVD combos using the same design format.

They Do Have a Bug's Life like that....it's currently only available through the Disney Movie Club - why it's an exclusive their I have no idea...

You know what, I was wondering where that cover style came from for A Bug's Life. I'd been doing some price checking on eBay over the weekend, and I saw that cover all over the place. I figured it was an import or something, but now I know where it came from!disneyboy20022 wrote:They Do Have a Bug's Life like that....it's currently only available through the Disney Movie Club
Do you know if it has that black bar across the top on the Blu-ray case itself, or is it just on the slip cover (if there is one)?

I'm not sure...I never did order it so I'm not sure what the case is like...MJW wrote:You know what, I was wondering where that cover style came from for A Bug's Life. Australia has covers like that for Wall-E, Monstes Inc and Ratatouille.
I didn't mind Cars + Incredibles honestly, they looked pretty cool.
But the other three are kind of bad. Bug's Life is also meh.
However, you can't help but feel how much cooler Incredibles would be without that half since it really is the left half that makes it epic.

It does come with a slip cover. Yes, the black bar is across both the slip and the case. It's actually more along the size of a dvd case instead of the smaller blu-ray cases. I don't know why Disney decided to do that, but there you go.MJW wrote:Do you know if it has that black bar across the top on the Blu-ray case itself, or is it just on the slip cover (if there is one)?

The Amazon.com listing has now been updated beyond the typical "placeholder" page and now includes the cover artwork:

Just started my Pixar Blu collection, I got Toy Story-Monsters Inc, is Rataoullie (spell?) still avaliable or do I need Amazon??
I plan on purchasing Cars, Incredibles, Wall E and Up in May.
Can't wait for Incredibles on Blu, really enjoyed it, each character was strong, though I think Brad Bird could've expanded a bit more on few story points.

With The Incredibles on Blu-ray for the first time and the Cars re-release on April 12, all the Pixar films except Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, and WALL-E will be available as Blu-ray/DVD combo packs. Do you think there is a good chance that these 3 will eventually be released (Nemo) or re-released (Ratatouille/WALL-E) as Blu-ray/DVD combo packs?
I know WALL-E is available as a Blu-ray/Digital copy combo, but I am holding out for the Blu-ray/DVD combos. I just upgraded to Blu-ray within the last year and for the foreseeable future will only have a Blu-ray player/HDTV in one room. It's nice having the DVD copies so that I have the freedom to watch the movie elsewhere in the house, if need be.
