I think Pixar did it not become they are a multi-million dollar production company but because they are a group of people who have hearts to care about one single's child last wish. She truly did hold on to see that movie. And I am glad Pixar did it.
I COMPLETELY agree. What parent would agree to make the death of their daughter a publicity statement!!!??? I am sure that the parents of this girl were compelled to tell this story out of emense gratitude for the kindness shown to their daughter. At such a hard time that is the ONLY reason I could ever see a parent doing something like this. When ppl go out of their way to do such a little thing to bring some joy to someone .....especally someones child...... for a parent that is huge.

Not to mention they would have said who was the Pixar employee that came to deliver the movie.

They have done similar things. I recall another little girl whose wish was to see Finding Nemo and Pixar arranged it. You didn't hear anything from them, not even on the DVD. We learned about it through the parents.

Pixar is a class act through and through and would never publicize this for personal gain...

As a parent myself, I would be eternally grateful to Pixar for doing that and I certainly would tell other people about it. Now on whether or not they themselves called the news, we'll never know. I know you don't NEED to call the news station for them to hear about things. For instance, I got on a the news about capturing the 5 foot iguana and having it live in my house not because I or anyone else called them. The local news station apparently lurks on the local forum I post on, I was posting pics and the story about it there and then they emailed me, then called me. Same thing with me being on the news about a local convention. A reporter saw me on the forum and emailed me for info. Its all in the grapevine.

The fact these parents are grieving over the loss of their young daughter would lead me to believe they did NOT call the news. But the news was probably contacted either through other friends/family or the grapevine. Especially when it comes to local news. If just a lowly gopher employee happens to go to their church, they hear about it, and then tell the reporters, it can get there that way.

IMO, I don't think either Pixar nor the girl's parents contacted the news.

This story made me cry! I'm happy she got to see the film before she died. We can learn a lot of lessons from this story!
