So it seems that it is playing with the 3D version as well, however I guess it depends on the theater? One of our theaters here is showing UP in both 3D and 2D so I hope they will show it with one of them.

Has it always been like this? I thought it used to be no matter where you saw a Pixar film, the corresponding short preceded it. Why is there so much confusion now?!

There may be spoilers in my post. I mean, no major spoilers or anything, but if you want to know nothing, don't read!

I thought that the short was really nice, really sweet. I agree with Mike about the moral of the story. Everyone in the audience (or most people!) seemed to really, really enjoy the short. I thought that the main cloud was adorable, and the bird was so funny- I felt for him, but I loved how he stuck by his friend!

That really sucks that they're not playing the short in front of 3D showings of the movie. I saw Up not in 3D because I didn't feel that it was worth paying an extra $2; I was already sad that the ticket prices went up 50 cents (but I knew that before going to the theater, since I called for showtimes). You pay more to see the film, and you get jipped.

But, could it be that Pixar didn't make Partly Cloudy to be shown in 3D, and so they didn't want people to be let down by the non-3Dness if they paid for the 3D showing of Up? What other trailers were shown besides Toy Story 3? Was that trailer shown in 3D? Were other trailers shown in 3D?

^According to the Micechat board, some people did see it with the 3D presentation. Must be the theaters' decision.

I saw the 2D edition of Up and the theater I went to showed the short...though the 2D edition didn't show Toy Story 3 Trailer....which I kinda figured on that....but they did show the trailer for The Princess and the Frog (which had one person asking during the trailer regarding The Princess and the Frog wanted to know if it was a remake of a previous animated film  )

Same thing for me. Is aw the film in 2D and got all the same stuff you did.

As for the short, Partly Cloudy, I really loved it! I think it was one of their best. But it is hard to say that as I really enjoyed all of them thus far.

it should be attatched to all showings. if its not you should complain to the manager.

as for the short, I'll just reiterate what I said in another thread. I was kinda disappointed in Partly Cloudy. don't get me wrong, the cute/evil babies they made were hilarious at times, it had good comedic timing, but next o Presto and many other Pixar's past shorts it doesnt compare for me. There are some shorts I like to watch again and again (luxo jr, geri's game, Presto) and others (One Man Band, Boundin) that I'll see once and enjoy it, but never need to see it again, and Party Cloudy fits into that category for me.

I think I acutually enjoyed the intro (first 30 seconds ish) more than the short itself.

I just went to see Up (loved it!)....and I thought Partly Clouded was brilliant. And I dont agree with the..."analysis" on here.

I think its about parenting. The stork keeps getting these babies that arent what he expected...and keeps looking at how others get less problematic babies. Very much like in real life, kids rarely live up to our high standards...because they are all less than perfect.
BUT. If you are a good parent...you put on ye football gear...and u dont turn yr back on yr children just cause they are a little different. You go the distance with them.

Did i mention I loved the short?
