I can get The Dark Knight single-disc at Target for $14.99
You were saying?
See, even when they're going out of business, they're STILL overpriced!

Liquidations usually start out expensive, and then get cheaper before they close. Circuit City has no control over prices anymore, and its the liquidators that are doing this. I remember when CompUSA closed. I thought I'd get some great deals on computer stuff, but the prices went higher. When they finally went low enough I considered it a good deal, the store was pretty much empty. I think Circuit City will be the same.
They plan to close the end of March, so hopefully the prices drop a lot in February. I still think its terrible that all those people are now unemployed. The job market is terrible right now.
That's crazy! Plus, it's such a waste of money for them to be printing the ads, especially since they don't sell new releases anymore (so you've told me), and the prices aren't even in effect.

Yeah its weird, but its how liquidations usually work. Circuit City turns over the stores to the liquidators and they sale the remaining items. Prices should get better as the liquidation continues, but deals are going to be a major YMMV type thing.
We may or may not get an add in the Sunday paper this week. One was made, because prices were already posted online. If they were already printed up they might send them out anyway, but I don't really see the point anymore.

YMMV?
Anyways, I heard that nationwide, everything is 20% off. How long until there is a bigger discount?
Your mileage may vary...
Honestly I'm not real sure when the prices could go down. It could be random, or a once a week type price drop. I have read that they want to close the end of March, so I would expect more price drops pretty soon.
Okay I just called the closest Circuit City near me which is about 40 miles away...anyway they said they won't know when percents go up...it's up to the liquidator......who is an outside source to say what percent off of what is what.....now a
Now I Have seen this before.....My Dad works as a Teacher for sever and profound handicap kids.....but about 8 years ago my dad put an application as a part time job...so He was hired as a shoe salesman in the outlet store called Value City....now let's fast forward the clock from him being hired to about a year ago. in August.....Value City had gone out of business and a Liquidator for to assess the store and the Liquidator calls the shots of markdowns.....Not Circuit City.....
Now Value City did keep 4 stores open 2 in IL and 2 in MO and some stores in their base in Columbus Ohio....But of course the 4 left in Mo and IL there were Wal-Marts Targets Kmarts and Gamestop Dierbiergs grocery store and in most place of these 4 left open were all sorts of altertnate stuff.....and here in Greenville people traveled from Saint Louis to get shoes from Greenville Value City in IL...which was closed and we didn't have any sort of Wal-mart...the closest thing was CVS Pharmacy at the time...
So Needless to say Did the 4 remainder Value City Stores 2 in MO and 2 in IL surrounded by more known and up to date store I.E Wal-Mart Kmart Target....
They closed about 4 months after the other Value cities did and when those 4 went down I think they all went down even in Columbus Ohio.....Now Idk about Value City Furniture.....
anyway my point is...Circuit City might have hired the Liquidator but If the Liquidator see's a price they feel can be marked down...they have the ultimate power....Even the Manager can't say hey I disagree with you on the 50% off of Nintnedo Wii systems because if the the job of the Liquidator is to get it sold....at any means necessary......and Circuit lost the control of the prices when they hired the liquidator.....

Wow, small world. I used to live near one of them in IL, actually applied there for a summer job about 15 years ago but got hired by the Wal-mart across the street instead.
I remember their "normal" prices used to be so good that people would drive in from as far as Chicago just to shop there (a two-hour trip). Way back when Hypercolor shirts were popular (anyone remember those?) they had them for $2-$8 when they were $25 or so everywhere else.
