I posted this earlier in the "new other item" thread, but I figured this would be a good place too. I got my Electric Tiki "Rescue Rangers" and "Darkwing Duck" sculptures today, and took some pictures:

These sculptures are really great. They look a lot better in person, than they do online. I'm looking forward to getting the Goliath sculpture next summer.

Man, someday I'm gonna load up on these (and the WDCC statues) and get rid of most of my toys as they are replaced by this high quality stuff (not my Toy Story COA toys, of course). I just don't have the money or space right now, but I'm in love with the Buffy statues (particularly the ones of Buffy herself, I can pass on the others, though Glory is tempting), the classic toons like Betty Boop and Mighty Mouse, among others, and a lot of the TV stuff like the Munsters and Elvira! I really love the Rocketeer and Jessica Rabbit ones also and would probably get those first! Or after Buffy, ha. And, of course I like the Disney toons like Darkwing, Rescue Rangers, and Supergoof! Supergoof would be an early buy for me too!
Just a friendly reminder that UD does have affiliateships with Sideshow Toy and Entertainment Earth. We've gotten a grand total of one order from the former and none from the latter in the years we've been active with them. Well, DW arrived early yesterday - I can't get over how good this maquette is! He's sitting in my cupboard next to my WDCC Daisy Duck. Looks great with the framed Disney Afternoon posters on the wall.
Really fine job on Electric Tiki's part - Despite the fact I was never really into them I love DW so much I'm half considering getting the CnDRR because of the quality and the (relative) value. For comparison, the Daisy was the same price yet is half the size and had 120x larger edition run...
I know it's more of a personal project on the creator's part, but I just with ET would consider more Disney afternoon and do a TailSpin or a Ducktales... They could even really indulge me and do a Quack Pack Daisy

If you ever can, it would be awesome if you'd post some pics of your Darkwing with the posters in the background. I'm particularly interested in seeing the posters. I wonder if they are like or the same as the ones I saw at Disney World on year, when Disney Afternoon was being heavily promoted even with a show at Mickey's Star Land. I wanna get some of those posters myself! Where'd you get yours?

Not sure where you'll still get the CnDRR maquette from, unless you look on eBay... or maybe they haven't released the normal edition yet. Speaking of which I overlooked to post a pic of mine here in the thread, so a little late but finally there...

As for the future, I might be interested in a Daphne and Kimberly piece...

Sideshow kept 75-100 for themselves wholesaled the rest of the 250 to other sellers - Mine arrived in an EE box with a Sideshow Box inside

The thing is, I've always been a duck person. Sort of mutually exclusive to the chipmunks if you go by the old shorts

WOW! I haven't bought any Electric Tiki stuff yet, mainly because I don't have my own place yet so I'm short on space, and I don't have much funds either, but I suspect when these come out they will finally get me going. I can't resist a good Tink or Ariel item, and I love what I've seen from Electric Tiki so far, and I'm really excited about the Daphne and Kimberly statues, and Belle would be great too. I'm not much into Nani, though I love Lilo and Stitch, and while I love Minnie, the anthropomorphs are rarely in my hottie zone, but it would definitely be nice if I could get the whole collection, so here's hoping I can afford them when they're available, and that I can get my own place sooner than I thought. I certainly hope we see all the Disney girls, Kim Possible too, and particularly obscure ones like Eilonwy, Katrina Van Tassel, Calla, and so on, but I also hope we see April O'Niel, Lola Bunny (my anthropomorph weakness), Daphne and the other Hanna Barbera girls, the animated versions of Supergirl, Batgirl, and other DC/WB show girls, and I wonder if Sailor Moon could be worked in there... ha. Would also be nice if they'd do some comic girls, with the excuse that they had animated shows, like Betty and Veronica, Sabrina (would love to see 90's version too), and such, and maybe a few game girls, specifically B.B. Hood, ha. Anyway, those are just some I'd like to see... Such a collection would get pricey, but I could probably get rid of so many of my other collectibles if I had these, ha.SpaceAce wrote:http://www.electrictiki.com/animate-lad ... adies.html

Actually, as I am looking to sell my Kayley fashion doll from Quest for Camelot right now, I am reminded of how gorgeous I thought that character's design was, even though I thought the film was awful. She's another I would LOVE for them to make a statue of, as all I'm keeping now is the action figure, which wasn't a very good likeness at all. The fashion doll is much better, but I'm trying to clear out my fashion doll collection, as it mostly just sits in my closet, only keeping a few really special ones for now). I'd also like to see them do Crysta from Ferngully, of course, and Thumbellina and the Swan Princess are some other good ones, even if their movies were blah. I doubt they'd ever do younger characters, like Fern from Charlotte's Web, but it'd be lovely nostalgia for me, as she was one of my earliest crushes.

I got mine direct from Sideshow anyhows (mine is the limited to boot), I didn't realise they had passed so many of the normal editions to elsewheres.drnilescrane wrote:Sideshow kept 75-100 for themselves wholesaled the rest of the 250 to other sellers - Mine arrived in an EE box with a Sideshow Box inside. Apparently I've got #13 of 250.
The thing is, I've always been a duck person. Sort of mutually exclusive to the chipmunks if you go by the old shorts. (Plus, all the Gadget shipping in the Rangerdom pisses me off.)
As for the Rangerdom, I'm one of the staunchest neutral supporters out there, so hopefully you couldn't have an issue with me now

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference between the limited edition and the normal edition? They are all numbered and limited to 250 as far as I can tell.Mayhem wrote:I got mine direct from Sideshow anyhows (mine is the limited to boot), I didn't realise they had passed so many of the normal editions to elsewheres.drnilescrane wrote:Sideshow kept 75-100 for themselves wholesaled the rest of the 250 to other sellers - Mine arrived in an EE box with a Sideshow Box inside. Somehow I missed this thread in December, so, I was going to post the animated ladies statue, too, but never mind those since they've already been posted.
Check out this awesome Gargoyles statue-

I'm so going to buy that (assuming it's not too pricey!)

Have we brought up that "Fred Moore Girl" statue yet? Man, that is going to be a MUST HAVE for me! That's like my perfect girl! I wonder how the colors will be! Anyway, I have finally taken my first steps into collecting Electric Tiki, which I want to get VERY into in the future. It was a small step, ha, but I am now awaiting my Mr. Magoo mini maquette from an Ebay seller, ha. I got a great deal with some Paypal cash I had leftover after getting that hard to get old Zatanna Batman Animated Series-style statue.

Totally! Oh, and one of the mini maquette's I've been wanting to get so badly to start off my collection, I must say, is the black and white Betty Boop one. Only problem is, surely they'll do a Betty Boop for the animated girls series, and I hate to end up with two. *sigh* I've been very unsure about buying other statues now that they have developed this line that is tailor made for me, ha. I wonder if it will include Slue Foot Sue. I have long wanted that WDCC version. I'll probably end up getting it eventually though. I hope they make Katrina though. Someone needs to make Katrina!
