Got my 3 Dr. Syns today. All GEM mint. Not even the hint of a ding. Prices for them on ebay have dropped right off of the table. Before DMC started shipping them they were going for up to the high $90's. One just sold in the last 24 hours for $46 with free shipping. The going price seems now to be in the $45-$50 range.
15 gallon 7 pint blood donor as of 1-4-11. Done donating. Apparently having Cancer makes you kind of ineligible to donate.

Thanks for the update! I've got 2 copies of Dr. Syn already but it is mighty tempting to get a 3rd via the DMC....

It is irksome to read about people buying multiple copies at retail prices just to resell on ebay because the print run is limited, and it's irksome knowing that innocent people will be deprived of the ability to purchase the movie through a traditional source and forced to buy them through places like ebay for inflated prices due to others hording them. It's all the more reason why Disney should not make such a limited printing.

Not just joining but it seemed this way was better than creating a new thread just to ask a question. I ordered a blu ray on the phone yesterday early in the morning. About how long does an order stay in the processing step before they normally ship it? I was hoping since they had all day yesterday that I might get a shipping notice by today's end but the site says it is still "processing".

IDK, I know it tends to stay in the "Processing" phase longer around holiday seasons. But I've never had a shipment (besides my first) arrive in more than 10 business days. It seems like if it ships quickly, it takes forever to arrive, but if it takes forever to process, they ship it out fairly quickly. So, I really don't know....

If you just ordered it yesterday, I wouldn't expect it at your house until late next week or early the week after. It's fairly normal for it to still be processing the night after you've ordered it.

QFT. And it's sad that your comment went ignored.

I've been waiting...oh, gosh, a decade at least to own "Condorman" on DVD. Campy and contrived as it is, I love that dang movie so much and it's a major childhood favorite.

I missed the first two times it was released by Anchor Bay and wasn't about to pay the jacked asking prices on ebay and amazon which -- even today -- are listing at over $800 for the OOP titles.

There are currently 9 new copies of the WWoD DMR exclusive selling on Amazon for between $25-40.

And because unscrupulous types purchased multiple copies for the sole purpose of reselling them at a profit, I can't even redeem my DMR points for the only exclusive title I genuinely wanted from the catalog.

It really is shameful to exploit fans and collectors if you're buying only to resell at a profit.

If you have been motivated to purchase multiple copies for the same reason, please do us all a favor and don't openly brag about it here.

Not sure who you are addressing there, but I don't see any postings in this forum "bragging" about acquiring multiple copies to resell them at inflated prices.

Voiceroy, if it's any consolation, Condorman is still available from the Disney Movie Club, so it's not out of print and completely bought up by collectors/resellers. It will very likely come back into stock on Disney Movie Rewards. Many itmes on Disney Movie Rewards have returned after being "temporarily out of stock."

I was just speaking in general terms, but at the risk of possibly offending someone, two members have stated in this thread:

Why else would anyone want to purchase three copies of the same product and then even discuss what the secondary market price is if they aren't buying simply to resell at a higher price?

I would understand buying two copies -- opening one and keeping the other sealed for collectible reasons. I do the same thing with my TV/movie animated memorabilia collection (depending on the item).

But if there's a valid reason that justifies buying *three* copies other than the intent to resell at a profit, please explain -- I'd love to hear it.

Well, in truth, you are making assumptions about people's intent which are not grounded in fact. There maybe any number of reasons while people buy multiple copies; perhaps they want to share them with family and friends or even with their children when they get older.

I'd be a bit slower to make judgements about people you don't even know or to presume to know the reasons why they buying a certain product.

I realize that it's wrong to make assumptions about people and I apologize for that. However, when someone admits buying three copies of the same title and then in the same exact post mentions the *going rate* on ebay -- please tell me how else am I supposed to take that? Why else would it matter what it's selling for on ebay if one were buying duplicates for the legit reasons you mentioned?

I don't really want to belabor the issue, but, ultimately, why do you feel compelled to speculate on or even know the reasons why someone mentioned purchasing 3 copies and the going rates on ebay in the same post? Even if their reasons are to resell them, that is the nature of capitalism and the free market. People are always going to purchase items that scarce and sell them at an elevated price; it's basic supply and demand.

If you want to blame someone for the situation, then take the company to task for releasing such a low print run and question them on either their miscalculation of the demand for Dr. Syn or, as mentioned in another post, their deliberate planned obsolescence for the product.
