The New DVD Thread
1/7 - Just picked up Out of Time sight-unseen at Costco for $17.29.
I heard good things about it, and I'm a film noir/mystery fan, so I thought I'd give it a chance. The great thing about Costco is that even after you open a DVD, you can return it for absolutely any reason - but I figure I'll probably enjoy this one.

I picked up Snowball Express the other day. I can't tell you why, except that I finished my papers for my Boards and said I deserved a new movie. I went to the 14.44 rack because the one I wanted (Spy Kids 2) hasn't dropped it's price yet. I plan on getting the Apple Dumpling Gang at some point....(i'm working on older live action at the moment)

1/8 - got Spider-Man for $14.99 and Ferris Bueller's Day Off for $9.99 at Best Buy today. I used to own Spidey, but someone stole it.
I ended up returning Out of Time. It was a good movie, but not something I'd want to own for various reasons.

Well, Thursday is "Disney Movie Day" during 5th period (Block Days, 90-minute classes) for our lifeskills kids, and I'm the film supplier. However, I forgot today's movie. Luckily we were taking them to Wal-Mart on a community outing (they bring small grocery lists and shop) so I picked up The Apple Dumpling Gang SE for them to view. It was a huge hit

1/11 - got Die Another Day for $14.44 at Target
Side note: I hate the stickers Target puts on their DVDs. I was trying very carefully to pull it off without damaging the cardboard slipcase (DAD has one just like BATB). I was 90% successful until the last corner of the sticker tore of a bit of the surface of the cardboard. So basically there's this little white blob on the cover, and there's no way to exchange it since I already opened the DVD case itself.

I just bought Piglet's Big Movie with a Xmas voucher I got.
Only cost me a few dollars...
Haven't watched it yet, but my collection moves closer to Pooh perfection (or Poohfection if you will)...
And Saludos Amigos, Fun and Fancy Free and Three Cabelleros (sic) have all just arrived...Distacular!

I picked up the American Wedding gift set the other day. I love the American Pie Revealed documentary. Every movie trilogy should have a documentary that informative made about it.
Feel free to check out the rest of my collection here.

Target has broken even the strongest of usmichelle wrote:I went and got the Ultimate Toy Box and the Fantasia Anthology today ...
There was one TB sitting in Target and the paranoia just got to me
The ATM growled at me

Apparently, they have the "Fables" sets there exclusively.
Don't forget to go and get your student discount at HMV too, Michelle. 10% all purchases. Very handy.
I've been really good with DVDs lately. I got a bunch of freebies (that I mentioned above). I have a really large order for March/April, so expect me to post a long list then.
Pooh/Valentine's just shipped, so I guess that kinda counts (because I HAVE paid for it).

It has been going for a few years now (maybe 2? I've had 2 cards anyways). I'm not sure if it is ALL students, or just uni ones...but, you go along with a student/concession card and they give you this little discount card thingy and you get 10% off everything...michelle wrote:There's a HMV student discount!?!?
since when?
and why was I not informed?
I'm now too old. I finished uni last year, so I'm buying as many as possible until my card expires in March
