To be honest, I'm hurt. Am I that hard to buy things for? I already regifted the blanket and the chocolates to people who actually wanted them. The watch is nearly pointless, as the Christmas season is almost over. The Chinese necklace is beautiful and appreciated, but that seems to be everyone's cop-out. "What should we buy Prudence?" "Uh, uhm, she likes Chinese things!" And money? Well, that's what nearly everyone sent me. The things I like don't exist, perhaps.

Wicked: The Grimmeire book

Nice!! I'm on a total Oz binge! lol, I got an awesome framed drawing, the 3 Disc collectors edition, Wicked soundtrack. I'm also gonna go buy the Wicked novel AND.... my parents said we're going to New York for spring break and I'm totally gonna go watch Wicked!!!! Also cant wait for Tin Man on DVD!

Wow, everybody got very spoiled this year

We decided to keep it very low-key this year, exchanging a box of chocolates each so that we could go back to the traditional roots of Christmas gift-giving. That is, we didn't want to go overboard with presents this year as we always do. The rest of the effort was focused on us all bringing a dish or three to the dinner table.

All that said, aside from a few boxes of chocolates, I was surprised by "20 Years of Pixar Animation Book", printed for an Aussie exhibition that I was unable to attend, but my mother visited on her trip interstate last month. It's a lovely book, even if it did break the self-imposed Christmas rules this year.

Next year, we are doing away with present altogether, and donating to charity collectively.

With the amount of younger children that I know, mostly second cousins and the children of coworkers now (but younger children I consider family nonetheless), doing something like that is a very long way off- if it will ever happen. Even I don't think I'm mature enough to truly be happy receiving no presents on Christmas. I would mask gratefulness, but would inwardly feel quite stung.

Well there are a lot of aunts/grandparents/etc. in my family buying primarily just for my sister and I, so my gift list sometimes looks disproportionate. But yes, I did get quite a good assortment of gifts this year!
