Scalpers and true-blue-buyers snatched up all the copies rather quickly. I was at Best Buy the day after they came out (to get Chrono Donald V4 and either Dr. Syn or Annette), and they only had one copy left! Needless to say, I picked it up with Chrono Donald since I knew the chances of finding another in a brick-and-mortar store would be slim-to-none.

You know, I have something very unique to say about that... And I would love for everyone on this entire board to hear this:
This is clearly a case of Criminal Opportunists enabling Criminal Opportunists!!
Disney and their b.s. "Vault" crap and their b.s. "Collector" crap have finally, literally begun to screw their potential buyers. To finally physically begin biting the hand that feeds them. SCALPERS do not feed them - they're hawks, waiting for the same opportunity to cash-in as Disney! Things wouldn't be this way if it weren't for all this "for a limited time, only a limited amount of copies," garbage.
This was truly inevitable! Disney's sick corporate coldness is attracting buyers as equally dirty as the sellers / marketers. And now they've just about erased the chance for most of anyone to actually pick up this title. This was a long-time coming. From the "now you see them, now you don't" of the Platinum Editions, to the 1999 batch of THX-ed Limited Editions which were truly limited alright, and the pattern of all these "Treasure" releases! Collector's Items priced at the cost of one of your arms or legs!
Are there any other cases of this maybe happening that you think are similar, Esc??

None come to mind beyond the Treasures releases.Laz wrote:Are there any other cases of this maybe happening that you think are similar, Esc??
Then again, there are the Disney Movie Club exclusives, which people will buy and re-sell on e-bay or Amazon Marketplace (and pray they don't get caught by Disney, as that leads to a termination of their DMC membership).
