Absolutely! It's fun for kids and grown-ups- if you like Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, you'll love TSM! It's the same type of ride, but different. There are different "stations" and you play different games.

The theming is some of the best theming I've seen for an attraction, too.
I haven't been on Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters either. I was in Disneyland in 1987 and haven't been there or WDW since then so I know there it's going to be different since 1987.

I actually should've written "Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin", since that's what the WDW attraction is called. I always forget what it's called here and call it "Astro Blasters"...I haven't been to Disneyland yet, so I haven't been on that one, either...

Even if you haven't been on the Buzz ride, I can't see how people can't like TSM. It's a fun interactive ride where you compete with a partner- it's so much fun!!! And it has "Toy Story" characters- it's great!!! :)

I just got back from WDW and got to do Toy Story Mania 3 times over the course of a 10 day trip. (I was there August 1 through 10). My family and I loved it. When we were there, it was the most popular attraction, and fast passes were gone by 10:30 each morning. We took advantage of morning Extra Magic Hours at Hollywood Studios and got in the line for Toy Story Mania as soon as we got there. We only had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes. When we got out, the wait time was 60 minutes. We got fast passes and rode again later in the day. The standby line generally had wait times of 70 minutes.

When I was getting fastpasses, the person in front of me struck up a conversation with one of the Toy Story Mania workers and said, "I work at Rock-n-Roller Coaster and they say that the world tips this way now." I can believe it based upon the crowds that we saw.

I went on it 5 times last week and I LOVED it! Wasn't sure I would as I hate Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin!
My scores weren't that great but my accuracy was in the 70% range. I guess I just need to pull the string at will like I saw others doing who scored much higher but with less accuracy!

Toy Story Mania is FABULOUS!

I went at WDW in June and this ride was so fun!!!. I can't wait to go on it at DL. I didn't beat my boyfriend's score (of course). But I almost did until the end. Hopefully I'll beat him at Disneyland.

Something that I couldn't understand about Toy Story Midway Mania. At WDW, they have Fast Passes for Toy Story Midway Mania but they don't at DCA. Why is that?

This ride works better without Fastpass, the DCA version is like 40 mins wait usually while when I was at WDW during value season it was like 70-110 minutes. And CMs told me that was the norm, "thanks to fastpass", they said. And both versions have similar hourly guest counts.

We (the NJ Trilogy) went last summer had loved it! The 3-D effects, and making the attraction into a game makes this attraction so much fun.

It's definitely a glimpse into the future of park/resort attractions. I remember the imagineers trying to figure this out when I shadowed five years back.

What's also great about the attraction is that it's not unreasonably short, like some attractions can be. And the queue line is awesomely "decorated" with huge versions of "old school" toys and games. I had fun just standing in line lol. Then again, I am easily amused.

As for the fast pass thing...in theory, the fast pass makes queue lines more efficient and faster. I remember, when the "right" number of people got fast passes at Pooh, the stand by line went by quicker than usual. It's when too many people come to the fast pass line at the same time that things get crazy.

What engineers and statisticians can't account for are guest's habits/decisions throughout the day and whether or not a cast member is "efficient" in loading.

Not dissing on attraction CM's, since I was one, but sometimes, fast pass gets overwhelming (especially at 2pm during peak season) and some CM's, can't quite control it as efficiently.

So, I'm guessing that in DCA, they just didn't add fast pass so they can see if the OHRC increases or decreases w/o fast pass.

Anyways, if anyone gets a chance to, go on TSM! I want to go on again so I can beat Kram and Escapay - they both beat me!

I loved it it was so much fun, but the line is always really long (110 min.) and if you want to get a fastpass you will have to get there 30 min. before the fastpass come out then you have to wait in the line just to get the fastpass!

At least at WDW they have a fastpass for Toy Story Mania. They don't at DL. We went there first as soon as DCA opened and waited 20 minutes.

When we went to DCA at DL in December, we went there first thing in the morning twice and the wait time was 20 minutes. One time, the CM let us stay on and we could go around again. My mom was in a wheelchair so we went in a different entrance onto the ride.
