DisneyFreak, do you live in Orlando? The only ones I know of are the one on Kirkman and another one in Kissimmee (Can't remember the address right now). The phone number of the one I go to is 407-445-3699. If you call them they should be able to tell you where other ones are, even out of state.

BrianG, you made my day! I work right off of Kirkman on Major, and I didn't know we had any Moviestop. Do you know the exact address (you could email me it if you want). I definitely will check that store out sometime! :pink:

Address:

2348 Kirkman Road
Orlando FL 32811

There is a Super Walmart on Kirkman right by the Metrowest signs with the fountains. In front of the Walmart (And right next to the 2nd fountain) is a big strip mall that has Gamestop, Tiajuanna Flats, Pizza Hut, etc..On the corner in a HUGE store is Moviestop. The best time to get the Disney DVDs is Saturday due to the but 2 used get one free deal, but check periodically to see what they have in there. The staff is really cool and if you ask nicely sometimes they can hold stuff for you (For a reasonable time).

Oh yeah......I picked up Dragon's Lair there Tuesday....for $3.99!!! :o

Man, now I want to go to a Moviestop. They sound like really neat stores. There's one about 100 miles from me near the Mall of Georgia. I'm tempted to go today but gas is just too expensive right now. I'll certainly check it out next time I go up there to see an IMAX movie.

BTW Cauldron, I have a coupon I'll scan for you later today when I get my printer working. It's 50% off any used dvd $11.99 or under. Ususally new releases that are used like Rocky Balboa, Pirates II (Because it's still popular), go for $14.99. Most good used Disney dvds go for that price too but Moviestop had Hunchback of Notre Dame used for $9.99 and with my coupon it came to $5.27 with tax. You can only use it on one item. If you happen to go there stop by the Gamestop 2 doors down and they should/might have some of the same coupons. The coupon has no expiration date.

Oh yeah....they're having a HUGE sale this weekend. It started Easter weekend and ends Sunday. They usually have some type of sale every week. If you go post here and let me know what you thought of the store :).

Then you don't have to drive all the way to the Mall O'GA to visit a MovieStop. There's one on Pleasant Hill (exit 104) off I-85 North in Norcross, and a HUGE one in Kennasaw on Ernest Barrett Pkwy.

Better yet, you should visit the one in Columbus that I found by doing a search on whitepages.com:

5555 Whittlesey
Columbus, GA 31909

(I live in Lawrenceville, BTW--but my wife and I are closing on a house in Winder the end of April. Our first house--so excited.)

For anyone else reading this, MovieStop is where most DVD trades will end up once GameStop is no longer taking them. MovieStop still does not have a website unfortunately. So do a "business name" search for MovieStop on whitepages.com for your state to find a location nearest you.

MovieStop also offers a promo where you can trade in four titles and get one of the newest releases from that same week for free. Or you can also use up to $19.99 value with the same deal to preorder upcoming releases. I've been trying to downsize my collection recently, and this deal is better than standard trade-in or cash value for any other store. It's already helped me pay for some upcoming box sets I want.

Otherwise, CD Warehouse has been my premium location for pre-owned DVDs. Check http://cdwarehouse.com/ Click "Retail Stores" on the menu to search for locations.

Most GameStop/EB Games mall stores no longer accept trades or even sell DVDs. I'm not sure how long it will be before the rest of the stores stop selling them indefinitely. The impression I get from Corporate communications is that it's until stores DVD inventories sell out. My guess is they'll start doing bigger promotions/deeper discounts within the next few months in order to sell through quicker.

As I mentioned previously, several stores in my district still have a lot of DVD inventory left.

I'm a regular CD Warehouse customer, for both selling and buying. I've done more selling than buying when it comes to movies, but I used to buy a lot of CDs from them. They're a great store. There's actually a "Lizzie McGuire" DVD for $4.99 I'm thinking of buying at the one near me, but I can't decide if I want it right now (but I do at some point). Anyhoo, if you're in the Orlando area, there's one on the corner of Coy and 50, and there's one somewhere on 436.

So I went into the other Gamestop by me this morning(the closer one)and they said not all the stores are stopping with dvds only some of them are including the other local store where they are selling the dvds buy2 get 2 free. They still takes trade ins but not for cash, only store credit, But they said they would not be surprised if they stop doing dvds by the end of the year. I may doa preorderon POTC III video game there for 39.99, trying to decide

This was already established in my posts above. And I *work* for GameStop--it's not second-hand info.

I think it's more likely that they'll stop selling them well before the end of the year because DVD trade percentages have rapidly declined since GameStop stopped offering cash for trades. I've seen the stock levels sell through an average of 20-30 DVDs per week just in the last month thanks to the B2/G1 sale.

Trade-in credit on most DVD titles averages less than $2. I believe Corporate has purposely done this to discourage DVD trades, and I don't blame them because 80% of DVD trades I've personally taken in are so scratched up that they wouldn't even be playable if they weren't refurbished. And refurbishing costs the company money.

Box sets are worth margianally higher, but I would suggest taking them to MovieStop or CD Warehouse to get more value.

Haha, I think Brian G was talking to me (I use the capital "F" in my name and you do not).

But no, I don't live in Orlando. I don't even live in Florida. :( This week I need to transfer some DVDs over to my Game Stop. I need "The Jungle Book" Limited Issue (for the Aspect Ratio) and "Cinderella II". Hopefully my GameStop won't stop selling DVDs, although they have the B2G1F sale going on. :(

One thing I find strange about dvds at gamestop is that I see about a bazillion (Yes, I know its not a number) copies of The Aviator. A lot of people must not like that film very much.
