A slut is someone who engages in sexual practices for money, and honestly, sluts dress much differently from Jasmine, Meg, and Ariel.

I really don't think so. I always knew it as just a female who does a lot of men, and sleeps around with "everyone". That's how I always understood it. No money involved. For what it's worth, Wikipedia agrees with me:
Slut is a pejorative term for a person (usually female) who is more sexually promiscuous than is socially acceptable. The term has traditionally been applied to women and is generally used as an insult or offensive term of disparagement. Slut has also been reclaimed as a slang term in the BDSM, polyamorous and gay and bisexual communities. It may be used by the person concerned as an expression of pride in their status, or as an expression of enviousness in the "success rate" of others. The term is not interchangeable with whore or prostitute as those terms denote a person who engages in sex for money.

You are so wrong there prudence.

The term is also used (principally by women) to describe a woman dressed provocatively or a woman being overtly flirtatious.

And yet her father (and most everyone else in Agrabah) has no problem wearing normal clothes that cover him. I, personally, don't see any of the princesses as "slutty," but Jasmine would be the closest to it.

Really? But Ariel only wears two seashells!!! :?

I don't see any of the princesses as "slutty" and no one is close to that!

Please, it's Disney! :roll:

Yes, but even the old mermaids wear just seashells. According to her society, it's not slutty to wear that (and it most likely would make it hard to swim if you wore more than that). Notice how she wears outfits are appropriate when she turns into a human though?

As for Jasmine, she's one of the only girls seen in the movie that dresses like that.

Forgetting the girls in the genie "fantasy" and I believe the girls in the begining with the mother aren't too wrapped up either.

Lots of the women of Agraba dress that way (and it's pretty historically correct, if I'm not mistaken).

Mulan = Not a Princess!

Eilonwey = Princess!!!
:evil: :evil: :evil:

Also, last time I checked Jasmine was Asian. Maybe not a monogloid in race (she's a caucasoid), but nevertheless she lives in Asia.*

*This is only if Arabian refers to Arabian Desert.

AS I'VE STATED: Mulan is an official Disney Princess, because of her admirable, heroic qualities. It's not necessary a royal status so much as a type of heroine. EILONWEY IS NOT AN OFFICIAL DISNEY PRINCESS, ergo she's not on the banner.

And on some offical "animated classics" lists, the Wild is listed. :roll: :wink:

I find that quite irrelevant to what we're talking about (and I agree, it's possibly the worst thing that Disney could slide into their animated classics list, especially when it's outsourced animation)

Those are whores. And yes, I was wrong earlier. I couldn't remember the definition at 4 in the morning.

First off, the word "slut" and "WhorE" are essentially synonymous. Second...are we really fighting over this? Really?

yeah... this is a Disney forum. I've been surprised by some of what's been posted on here (not this thread specifically, the word "slut" isnt that bad, but in general). Back to topic?

It's not even that I'm offended by this (believe me, it takes a LOT to offend me), it just sounds so ridiculous, like somthing a bunch of drunken frat boys would fight over, not members of a Disney forum.

You'd think her line "I'm Princess Eilonwy" in the film would make it official enough. :roll:

Still, the whole Disney Princess line is a convoluted mess anyway, as it only focuses on the popular ones.

As for the slut/whore argument, we should just let it go away.
