Just ordered the newest WDW planning DVD. I can't wait to watch it!

I agree with gaysnappercarr. I actually like the Happiest Celebration hosts. They were really funny, though cliched, but it made it easier to view WDW if you had a family with such different age groups. To me it made a WDW vacation more real and less like an obvious bit of promotion. It reminded me a lot of that old Disney Channel WDW show "Inside Out." I loved that show and I used to look in the TV Guide every week to see if it was on. I wish they brought a show like that back to the Disney Channel instead of the random bits of updates we get from "Disney 365."

This a a great set! Its all an new disc from last year that even has some special features like a visit to the Disney Archive. What really makes this onee special though is that it comes with a large hardback book about the DVC. They really went all out for this promotional release, even though its just to get you to buy into the DVC, its a nice disc/book combo for collectors as well.

Also, I just updated the list in my post above with this release and and the Adventures by Disney DVD.
Wait, this set is free??? The DVD and a hardcover book???

Does this mean that if you're a DVC member you can visit the Disney Archives??? That sounds SUPER COOL! I want to join!!!!

Oh I just got one of these too! I was actually surprised to see how nice the DVD since it was free from the WDW web site. It has two booklets one for Disneyland and WDW and the DVD is really cool. It shows a lot of awesome footage from all the theme parks.

I updated my list with the 2008 Disney World DVD. Nothing too earth shattering but for those of you who need them all, there it is. You will find the list on page one of this thread.

Okay, just updated the list once again. This time I've added the 2009 "What will you celebrate?" travel planning DVD. Its very similar to the previous years DVD. Of course its updated with the new stuff while skipping over certain attractions which will be shut down in 2009 like Space Mountain. If you enjoy these DVDs then order away, the new one is here!

So the "What Will You Celebrate?" disc is basically the Year of a Million Dreams one, but with minor alterations? I was afraid that was the case since no one on WDWMagic seemed to be making a big deal about this one, and those are guys always gobble up the latest Vacation Planning Kit. The packaging sounds really lame, too. I guess I'll just wait till 2011 to get the next one.

The packaging is much more economic. I got 2008's disc last Spring and that one came in the same kind of packaging. The average person who orders these DVDs doesn't intend to keep them past their vacation. On top of that, the spindle keeps the discs from scratching, so the only real complaint I can see would be from a collector who wants to see a DVD spine on their shelf. Otherwise, its perfectly fine and takes up less space.

Right, plus remember that these are free discs. So even though the packaging is on the cheap side it might still be worth ordering. It has some new stuff on it and I felt that it was a step up over the ones they've had the past two years.

I am thinking that 2011 is going to be the year for the planning DVDs. It'll be the 40th anniversary of WDW so I am sure there will be lots of new rides and attractions and updates that they are going to want to show off. Plus, hopefully the economy will be on its way to recovery at that point.
