Despite a fear of dragging this thread even more horribly off topic than it already is, I would just like to add that most collectible items are generally 'worth' about as much as someone is willing to pay for them. Having bought and sold a number of comics through eBay, I've been surprised at how much people were willing to pay for a complete run, regardless of whether those items were worth that much is sheer dollar value. So despite the Honourable Member for Junkie's protestations, I think there is something to be said for using a facility to buy and sell products as an indication of what the current going price for an item may be. It is all well and good to say it is 'worth' $90, but if people are only paying $20 on average on eBay - or $180 for that matter - then you have a better indication of what you might get back.

As far as VHS is concerned, and this is where the anti-eBay rant comes in (because I'm nothing if not balanced), it would seem that you'd get more in dollar value if you had pirated DVD copies of Out of Print titles than original legitimate VHS copies. I'm holding onto my own VHS both for sentimental reasons, and the fact that some of the anniversary VHS have lengthy documentaries not found on the DVD counterparts.

I guess it all comes down to personal preference, both on the part of the buyers and sellers.
