Yeah, Avonlea was released in Canada, but they have usually been around $100 per season. I don't remember what I paid for Season 1 that Disney released, but I know it was no where near that, so I'm still hoping that Disney will at least release a few more seasons.I am the Doctor wrote:I'd like to see Disney finish off Five Mile Creek. I bought the first season, and have been waiting very impatiently for the second and third seasons to show up.
At least Tales of Avonlea, which came out at the same time as FMC, has been released in Canada up through season 6, with season 7 due sometime this year. So if Disney never wants to finish Avonlea, I can live with that. But, darn it all, I want my Five Mile Creek!
Hopes for Disney tv series on DVD

Definitely agree about Fluppy Dogs! Really wish they'd release some sort of Totally '80s Disney Collector's set with programs like that, Totally Minnie, and a few others I can think of.
Also wanted to mention, though it's not Disney but I just thought of it, I've been dying for "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" to come to DVD.

Unfortunately, the Disney version is severely edited. For example, the first episodes runs about an hour on the Canadian Sullivan release while the Disney version cuts out about fifteen minutes. This is the worst example but all of the shows on the Disney set are edited, usually about 5 minutes or so.shr_fan wrote:Yeah, Avonlea was released in Canada, but they have usually been around $100 per season. There's a review of the Disney set here at UD:
http://www.ultimatedisney.com/avonlea-season1.html
Having some time to kill (and being a bit obsessive about Avonlea), I watched four episodes of the Disney and Sullivan versions to see exactly what Disney edited. A fellow Avonlea fan has these edits listed on her website:
http://www.geocities.com/kkgirlandlaz/R ... yCuts.html
I definitely understand about the price issue. But it is worth noting that some of the Avonlea DVDs have had price drops. Right now, Sullivan is selling seasons 1-5 for $220 US, which isn't too bad a deal. And prices have come down on individual sets as well, the upcoming and final season seven is selling for $80. Earlier seasons are selling for as low as $60 individually.

Yeah I actually like the Timon and Pumbaa show better then most of the other ones. I think they were funnier.Timon/Pumbaa fan wrote:Well, I'm still very disappointed The Timon & Pumbaa Show has never seen the light of day on DVD(season sets that is).
I hope they release:
1. Timon an Pumbaa
2. Aladdin
3. The Little Mermaid
4. House of Mouse
5. Hercules
6. Tarzan

the remainders of each of these:
1. Gargoyles
2. TaleSpin
3. Ducktales
4. Darkwing Duck
5. Chip 'N Dale
Also, even though it's only something Disney bought the rights to, I'd like them to release Digimon seasons 1 through 3. Disney butchered the fourth, but they should at least do fans the courtesy of releasing the show to DVD as they seemed to deem it worth buying in the first place.

So, Dinosaurs volume 2 is on the way to complete the series for its fans, but much better shows have yet to get a release or seem that they won't be completed. *harumph*
Not that I didn't enjoy Dinosaurs when it was on, and I have always been a Henson fan (though more of the muppets than his other stuff), but I'm dying for a release of "Honey, I Shrunk the Kinds" the TV show, all Disney's animated stuff, and the REST of "Gargoyles" and "Lizzie McGuire." Dinosaurs can be difficult to watch at times. I mean it's a bit too dark and bizarre. Plus, there was that year or so when it was CONSTANTLY on the Disney Channel, back when the channel changed so horribly. Bad memories there. Still, somewhere in my room are action figures of Earl and Baby, and a Dinosaurs Graphic Novel (but I never got the second one).

Ah heck ALL OF EM would be a welcome addition to my collection.
I just which whatever they decide to to that they STOP EDITING the shows. I mean for TV that seems fine, but when I buy something I want to buy it the way I originally saw it. I mean how pved would you be if you bought a movie and certain scenes were cut from what you saw in the theater. Mad huh?
Please Disney, I am loving that you are putting these shows on DVD. Having the official versions is great, but please keep em official.
For something new I would love to see Welcome to pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus again. Gosh those were great...Old school Disney Channel LOVE IT!!

It's been a LOOONG time, but I used to love Black Jack Savage! Ha, there's a joke on an episode of Simpsons about a show called "Night Boat," and, to me, I always felt that got that joke by combining Night Rider with Jack Black Savage, rather than just from Night Rider alone. And, I never thought about it then, but that show had some interesting similarities to BlackBeard's Ghost, if my memory isn't fooling me (wasn't the pirate on Black Jack Savage a ghost that appeared to the main character?).littlefuzzy wrote:I bet no one even remembers "The 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage"...
That, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and the rest of some of the shows that they stopped because of sales (Gargoyles, etc.,) would be great!

I don't know that I would buy them until I had a kid of my own, but watching those shows again would be such a trip! I used to watch them every day, as did my little sis! I have seen bits of Dumbo's Circus on YouTube recently!corrwill wrote: For something new I would love to see Welcome to pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus again. It's been years but I think that the guy could only see Black Jack because he owned the house he haunted. If Black Jack stepped off the porch these demons from Hell would try to get him and drag him down a tree for all eternity. So their gadget guy invent4ed a ghost busting machine that sucked the demons up into a propain tank. It really wasn't as campy as it sounds. Anyway, I remember when it came out all the ads were "From the creators of McGyver".
