Warner did The Iron giant, one of my favorite animated film from the 90's allong with Beauty and the beast and Lion King.

Is polar express 3-D? Zemeckis is also one of my favorit Hollywood directors: This is something i'm looking forward too :)

Do you know that RtE was supposed to be an adult's cartoon? When it was first developed, the idea was to include foul language and make the two characters much more crude and streetwise (but still lovable). It was this vision that encouraged Kevin Kline to sign (and probably Brannagh. It's not often "Our Ken" gets to cut free with extended cursing so maybe this did appeal to him aswell). In short it would be the American Pie of Animated Movies!

But then Dreamworks lost faith in the idea and it ended up the watered down film we have today. But you can still see hints of it's genesis if you look hard enough. But that's probably why you didn't like the two main characters - they're neither true to the original concept or really fit into the kiddie film that the motion picture became.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

yea, no kidding. how about the butt on that rosie perez character? they could have done something for the adult in me there.

also to someone back there was talking about WB studios and a new animated feature directed by robert zemeckis, and i haven't heard of it but it is now my most anticipated event. i was just explaining to my wife that after going thru all this animated stuff, the only thing that comes close to disney type quality is osmosis jones. visualy the movie is stunning-the animation is top notch- and the soundtrack bumps so loud- my cerwin vega loves it. and i think the WB studio gives the directors more leeway with what they can put in a film- thus you get cool directors like zemeckis and the farrelly brothers. i can't wait.
