Not sure about this one. The packaging is lovely but Cinderella is missing the extras disc. I'm trying hard not to double dip unnecessarily and this seems like a side-step. Besides, I have the R1 gift set.

What to do...

 Hey, could you let us know what the DVD's and packaging are like, and maybe take some pictures? I was thinking of getting this too, but not if it's not worth it.

Cinderella Trilogy

Post by Disney Duster »

I guess I'm a little late, I don't know if you're still around Ste7en, but thank you so much for showing us these pictures! It looks gorgeous, and there's some surprising storybook images there, but I'm not too keen on the aweful picture they used to represent Cinderella II on the back of the box, with a yellow-haired Cinderella. Yuck. Also, I wish they had drawn a new fairy godmother instead of re-used the one from the Cinderella II cover.

But my biggest complaints that I feel are actually pretty important are about the disc art. I love the gold and the lack of color, that's beautiful and a perfect choice. But the images they used are not good. I know that in previous pictures of this set, they had different poses of Cinderella and the Prince on each disc, but now the disc art doesn't make sense because Cinderella in her wedding dress is on disc II and Cinderella in the dress the mice made her is on disc III! She never wore her wedding dress in movie II and she never wore the mice's dress in anything other than movie I. Also, the images are just incorrect, with the wedding dress a completely different imagining of the original and the mice's dress given an extra bow and extended ribbon. I'm picky as hell, but that's how I roll.

Anyway, it's still gorgeous, and if I have enough moolah maybe I'll ask my folks to order it, but I really am not to sure. Thank you for helping me decide if I should want this or not, Ste7en.

I'm buying it. Of course I'm buying it. This is my favorite trilogy, and the set is beautiful! I've bought Pullips from Japan before, anyway.

( http://www.thevalleyofthedolls.com/PullipIndex.html ; they are dolls.)

For all of you who have/will buy this set, do you have Region 3 players or non-region players? This seriously seems like the best way to get "Cinderella II" legitamately (sp.?)...I don't have the $ for it, anyway, but I only have Region 1 players.

Some, I'll try to take some shots of the menus. Cinderella is disc 1 of the SE.

Aren't R1 DVDs in NTSC format? You can't play R2 DVDs in a R1 player, though...for all of you who have/will buy this set, do you have R2 players or non-region players?

I have both. I'll see what happens when my set is delivered.

I am just curious but was this Cinderella box set ever released in the US?

If so, is it OOP?

Sorry if I disturb anyone..
