It was really fun but because I'm going deer hunting and not working as much as I did last year my budget is really tight so unfortunately I will not be joining in on the fun this year. :(

Ever hear the phrase "Spare the rod, spoil the child"?

I now present a UD revision:

"Spare the deer, spoil the UD member"

:P

^ I didn't even know tha phrase existed until I saw V For Vendetta. Maybe they invented it afterall. Maybe I'm just weird. :P

(BTW, what do they say about karma? It sounded great when I typed it but now I'm confuzzled...)

yamiiguy wrote:Some questions

1) Can I sign up? I may not have been here long but in the (nearly) month that i have I already have 210 posts

2) If the answer to the above question is yes, can you buy pre-owned DVD's for a gift?

3) What about if something on the person you're matched to's wishlist is unavailable in your country?
Sorry to disappoint you, but having only been here a month, you won't make the cut. If you post on a regular and substantial basis henceforth, then next year, you'd be welcome to join. Secret Santa ends up being a lot more fun for people when they can recognize their assignment by their screenname and recall their personality from posts.

So far, twelve members have been greenlit to participate, with another six being considered, so we're already close to hitting our target of 30. Very pleased by the quick response! :santa:

So Luke could you list who has been green lighted so far and who is still be considered. Ooh I hope I am greenlighted already or am going to be greenlighted soon as I have been here for over a year and while I might not have that many posts I read each and every one's posting and feel like I really know a lot of the users such as You Luke and Escapay and the rest of the forum members which I would list every single one but there are way too many to list. I have even done some buying through the trading forum of this site. Basicly I am happy to call all of the UD Forum Members my freinds :). And remember I held an Academy Award for Walt Disney's Silly Symphony The Old Mill. That's Right I held in my arms (it was heavy) The actual Acadmemy Awards aka Oscar award that The Old Mill won!! :)

Well, I already paid for my license (not to mention my equipment) so I at least have to try and if I don't get anything well... that's hunting. You can't expect to get something every time you go into the forest. Plus I have to pay my mother back for my tuition. eeeeee! :shifty:

I'd love to participate, but being a minor, and living in Australia, it would be quite hard to participate without complications arising. But it will be fun seeing what presents everyone else recieves. My birthday is coming up too, so I'll probably be recieving more gifts than I should, what with turning 15, and the holiday season coming up, so I shouldn't be too disappointed. Keep me updated guys! :)

Aaaaaw! I'd love to participate in this! However, being a minor (Sob! Sob!), I don't think my dad will really take to the idea.

If by any chance I can participate, I suppose I have been here long enough have I? (8 months - 650 posts) And I believe I am currently the 2006 member with the most posts, that is, before slave2moonlight catches up on me and overtakes! He's flipping fast!

Oh well...sending a gift to someone here will be lovely. I'd definitely also send a card, so the person living overseas could also see my handwriting. :D

Hey Luke, could we get a list of the users who've been approved to participate? I'm hoping I'm one of them...

I participated last year for the first time but unfortunately I can't this year. It's been a good long while since I posted plus, this has been a really bad summer/fall for us. I look forward to seeing what everyone gets. It was a lot of fun and those that are new to it will enjoy it.

So far, the members who have participated in this in past years have been approved. That totals 14 as of now and you should know who you are. There are five new applicants which we've still got to decide on and then there are two additional ones who have either expressed some interest in this thread or outside of it and may or may not be joining.

Looks like we may have no problem at all staying under 30, which on the one hand is sad to easily have less of a turnout than last year but at the same time, should keep things more intimate and fun.

I sent an e-mail. It sounds like fun. And it will (maybe) give me a chance to do something nice for someone else.
