Some advice

Post by Commodore Barbosa »

Don't ever give up looking for it, but don't limit yourself to ebay, go to used stores as much as you possibly can. I've been frequenting many of my local used music/movie stores lately, and let me tell you, i've come across some great finds. But today took the cake, right there in the childrens used dvd section, was The Little Mermaid :o , and it was priced at $15 :shock: . Took it to the front counter, and not only did it have it's inserts, but it also had the coupon page, and the condition of the disk was pristine.

If I can find it, anyone can!

Thank you Luke, for explaining that to me. :)
By the way, I won a dvd! Not the first one I was looking at, that one I was outbid. But I found this one, and It's even sealed! :)

Sealed ?? It says it's been viewed, so most likely the seller just re-sealed it. Not sure what the big deal is if it is sealed. It's not the original seal.

But I am very happy that you won the Mermaid DVD.....it seemed like you wanted it really badly.......so just enjoy when you get it.

Little Mermaid
4.87 GB or 5,233,588,224 bytes -> Video_tS directory
10/1/99 -> should be the date

Jungle Book
4.28 GB or 4,606,201.856 bytes -> Video_ts directory
10/28/99 -> should be the date

I have the Lady and the Tramp one too ..... if you would like to confirm. It is currently being played on my DVD player. Hope the info helps.

Aladdin

The little Mermaid comes in at 3.6 Gb , The Jungle Book 4.29 Gb , and Lady and the Tramp 4.23 Gb . Furthermore the individual VOB files appear to have been created in September 2003 . Surely this is impossible with the DVD being Out of Print

Could you please confirm your Lady and the Tramp for me

None of the DVD's have serial numbers etched onto the ring !!

Many thanks

That does most certainly sound fishy. None of the files should have been dated September 2003, and The Little Mermaid should have been larger in data size.

So unless your computer's file system is playing tricks on you, I would say that your discs are bootlegs.

If the discs have colour artwork and come in white cases with real colour inserts, then someone must have gone to an awful lot of trouble to make them look authentic. They've probably been manufactured at some professional pirate plant in the Far East.

I would advice to check if they are really region 1. Pirated copies are usually all region.
