Wait a second, PP wasn't one of the original 10 PE's. I don't get it? I'm excited for PP, but I was kinda hoping for 101D's.

Wow. I'm so excited for the "Disney Movie Rewards Program." Disney will finally be giving something back to me. I haven't gotten anything since 2003 when I sent in for a free DVD. lol. It sounds like it's going to be handled much like the new TV shows from Buena Vista. Inside of my "Lost Season 2" DVD was a card with a code on it. If I had also bought "Grey's Anatomy," "Desperate Housewives," or "Commander in Cheif" I would have gotten money back by entering codes from the cards in each one. I think each second DVD you bought would get you $10 back by mail. Hopefully Disney will have either money back or a free DVD when you buy x ammount of Disney movies. Thank God, or the executives at Disney, that I won't have to cut out proof of purchases and fill out cards to get something back. I can just type in my name and address and a code to reap my rewards.

No. The original 10 ended with "The Jungle Book" and "101 Dalmatians." I think it was two years ago when Disney added 4 more titles. They were "Peter Pan," "Pinocchio," "Sleeping Beauty," and "Fantasia." I always figured Pan would be the last one released, seeing as it was last released on DVD in 2003, whereas "Pinocchio" was 1999 and "Fantasia" was 2000. But the powers that be decided that Pan should be released again before "The Tinker Bell Movie," which I wish wasn't being made, but if it gets me a 2-disc release of my favorite classic sooner than later, than so be it. lol. I wish "101 Dalmatians" would be released fall of 2007 and that "The Jungle Book" would be March of 2008, but it's already on the insert for "The Little Mermaid" and once those are printed, the date is pretty much set in stone. I think it's safe to say that "101 Dalmatians" will be released March 2008, but I almost feel that "Pinocchio" should come before all of these, because it was the first classic on DVD and was released before 101D and TJB and PP, even though the other three weren't released two much later. I think there was a few months between? Needless to say, Pan last got a DVD treatment in 2003, so 4 years before it's Paltinum release. I thought the original statement for the Platinum titles was that they would be released once every 10 years, but then it was changed to 7. So I'm assuming that once Pan's PE is released, it should be another 7 years before it makes it's way to DVD again, or blue ray or HDDVD.Wait a second, PP wasn't one of the original 10 PE's. Yes I know. But it was said that Disney would first release the original 10 Platinum Editions, and then carry on with the other 4. That's why I don't get why 101D isn't going to be released next year, when it's supposed to. But that really doesn't matter, as long as I get ALL of the PE's, I will be the happiest kid on earth.

I'm hoping we have it real soon. In the "Disney DVD Insider" found in "Lady and the Tramp," it showed cover art for "The Little Mermaid." I asked lighthousemike if TLM has a DDI in it. If so, there is a good chance that cover art for Pan will be inside. Also, if you look in the pictures he posted, attached to the insert is an add for the Disney Movie Rewards Program. On the film strip at the bottom are pictures of Ariel, Cars, Jack Sparrow, and Pan. The picture of Ariel is taken from the cover art, and while the Cars and Pirates aren't, it's a picture of Pan that I don't recognize and could at least be concept art for the PE.Omigod!! This means we should be getting coverart SOON!

Okay guys, let's rein in all our excitement for a minute so I can probably help answer one lingering question:
HOW DID LIGHTHOUSEMIKE GET HIS TLM:PE EARLY?
Well...what's early?
September 16
October 3
That's a difference of about 17 days. Many DVD reviewer sites get their review discs at most 2 or 3 weeks before everyone else (DVDtalk, I know, gets them usually 3 weeks ahead). So, I'm guessing lighthousemike manages another DVD review site that got his copies early.
But now that brings us to the question:
WHY IS IT THAT ULTIMATE DISNEY, THE PREMIERE SITE FOR DISNEY DVD REVIEWS, STILL ONLY GETS THEM A WEEK EARLY?
Okay, now, let's resume the excitement...

I would deffinatley be watching if I were Mike... I wish I were Mike... I wish I were Mike... I wish I were Mike... Could it be that Disney is lying and wishes don't come true? I'm not turning into Mike! I don't have TLM PE DVD and my Limited Issue isn't as good by any means!!!!!!... Just kidding. I'm not that crazy. I would probably rob a person though if I knew they had the PE on them... if only I had a gun...again, kidding.
Wow, information overload. Wasn't expecting Peter Pan to come before 101 Dalmations, but they're probably trying to cash in on the Disney Faries/Tinker Bell merchandise. Disney is probably still trying to find 101 Dalmations bonus material, and Peter Pan is easier to release as they've basically got all of the material from the first release.
Looking forward to The Little Mermaid 3, and Cinderella 3- A Twist In Time (weird subtitle). Hopefully the Jungle Book release is good, as it's one of my fave Disney movies. Maybe they'll re-release The Jungle Book 2, not that anyone'll care much.
So much cover art to expect!
Hopefully it's good.

Wouldn't mind if they re-released Return to Neverland (not the best sequel out there, but in the "decent" and "pretty good" range), since I missed out on buying it the first time (but Kram didn't). TLMII can stay in the vault for all I care, lol. That one is just too role-reversal-that-it-makes-for-a-tired-retread sequel for me. Plus, Melody was a brat...just like her mother.numba1lostboy wrote:Opleaseopleaseopleaseoplease rerelease Return To Never Land and Little Mermaid II!! PleaseDisneyPlease!!

OKgoofystitch wrote:Lighthousemike, I have a few questions for you. The first being that I haven't seen disc art yet. They aren't on UD's upcoming cover and disc art yet. I was wondering if you could please scan the cover of both discs and post them. I'm sure I'm not the only one curious to see them. Also, does this release come with a "Disney DVD Insider" as the last two Platinums have? I was wondering if you can tell us what is in them. The last one that came with "Lady and the Tramp" had Ariel on the cover and included that cover art for the PE. I was wondering if the new one features Pan on the cover and if the DVD's cover art is anywhere in the magazine. Thank you very much.
i'll try to answer al of you
first - there is NO Disney insider with this dvd (i was sad about that too)
A friend of mine is a dvd suplyer so he can sell me all the dvds 4 to 3 weeks ahead. Disney send them out 4 weeks ahead of time.
Now if you guys want i can upload all the previews or some to my server i own 2 sites (www.MADONNAdownload.com and www.LighthouseNEWS.US) so if you want let me know which ones and i will.
Below are the discs art.
If you want to know more just ask.

I'm hoping the rainbow effects on the disc are actually part of the art and now a reflection from the scanner (like Cinderella PE disc art)
