They have a ton of cool anime shirts, I love the retro-gaming shirts (I wish I could buy a few,) and they have some nice old-school horror: Romero, Fulci, Evil Dead, etc...rexcrk wrote: Me neither. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Hot Topic, I get all my shirts from there.

I'm kinda excited about this. I like Painc! At the Disco, and Fallout Boy is ok I guess, never listened to Marilyn, but anyway what's the big deal? I think they can sing pretty well, so why does it matter who sings the lyrics as long as they can sing? I don't think they will mess up the songs too bad for those of you who don't like any of the bands.

I picked this up today at a local store. I'd been meaning to buy the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack for a while now, and this 2-disc re-release was as good an excuse as any to finally pick it up. It was also pretty nice in that I actually got it for cheaper than I'd seen the same store selling the old, 1-disc soundtrack release not that long ago; probably 'cuz it's a new release. The covers on disc 2 are mainly just bonuses for me as my main interest has always been in the original score (and I doubt any of the covers even come close to matching it); though I appreciate the inclusion of the demo tracks. I do like the lenticular front insert, as well.
Totally. I take pride in the fact that I liked the movie before it reached cult status.littlefuzzy wrote:Don't get me wrong, I am a big Burton fan, especially with the Trifecta: TB directing, Danny Elfman on Music, and Johnny Depp starring...DaveWadding wrote: They all worship Tim Burton as if he were a God.
However, it just seems like the emo/goth crowd likes this movie waaay out of proportion...
As for the soundtrack itself, meh. Marilyn Manson is okay, but I'm against Panic! At The Disco simply because they think they're so clever for referencing a Smiths song in their name.

SHE WANTS REVENGE
For those of you who can't decide on whether or not to buy the New
2-disc Special Edition Soundtrack of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Aol music is offering people to LEGALLY Listen to the entire soundtrack song by song. I plan on Buying it tomorrow at best buy since it comes with 2 bonus tracks only at best buy. Now the one song I am listening to right now that I am right now disgusted with is Not Marilyn Manson's Version of This is Halloween but rather the band She Want's Revenge's version of Kidnap the Sandy Claws just really makes gives me a headache... worse than marilyn manson's song on the soundtrack. At least Manson sticks with somewhat of the original score of This is Halloween compare to She Wants Revenge's version of Kidnap the Sandy Claws. It sounded Like Claws on a Chalkboard and it's about as annoying as that commericial for headaches Head-on Apply Directly to the forehead - Head on Apply Directly to the Forehead... Head on apply directly to the forehead.. Anyway Before I give myself a headache here is the link....

Hey, watch it
. Don't diss the Hot Topic crowd. While I wouldn't call myself "emo" or anything stereotypical, I really do love a lot of stuff Hot Topic sells. They have stuff on X-Men and other Marvel characters, Harry Potter, Pirates Of The Caribbean, and I've even seen stuff from classic Disney movies.
And Panic! At The Disco singing "This Is Halloween" will be neat! I really like them. This album is like a DisneyMania album just for NBC.

5. Doctor Finkelstein/In The Forest – Amiina
6. What's This? - Flyleaf

17. Finale/Reprise – Shiny Toy Guns

This is exactly what's wrong with some of the fans. Why do we need a cover cd full of cliches? I like the songs for the character's singing the songs. When people who are not in the moment sing it, it just ruins it. This is something that bugs me, another thing where people like something becasue everyone else likes it. They are being an individual but being part of the whole at the same time. Someone who likes this movie becasue it's the cool thing to like it, really does not understand the movie. You can be emo and like this movie, just like it for your reasons.

Shocktillyoudrop:com have given us first hand on an all new TNBC soundtrack:
http://shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=7922
On September 30th, Walt Disney Records unveils Nightmare Revisited with 20 fresh recordings and beloved covers of the music, mayhem, and merriment from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Danny Elfman returns to recapture the musical landscape he masterfully created for the original The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack with two brand new recordings of the “Opening” and “Closing.” Adding a new tantalizing twist to Nightmare favorites, Nightmare Revisited also boasts Korn, Amy Lee, Plain White T’s, Rise Against, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Flyleaf. Of course the soundtrack could not be complete without a popular ghost of Nightmare’s past: Marilyn Manson’s eerie cover of “This Is Halloween.”
Each artist re-imagines the most beloved Nightmare anthems, incorporating their signature styles and bringing a hauntingly delightful new sound to life.
Danny Elfman adds, "The new Nightmare Revisited is much more diverse compared to the 13th Anniversary Special Edition. The approach in every song is different. Instead of just covering the songs, they turned groups loose on the score itself. Hearing all these interpretations of the songs and score is a huge treat. There are bands with their psychedelic abstract visions – Sparkle Horse, Vitamin String Quartet and Polyphonic Spree - and they’re counter-balanced with solid performances by Korn, Rise Against and All American Rejects."

Me too! I remember going to see it in the theater for the first time and amazed with the animation. For years I was use to the claymation of Rankin-Bass, so this was something so very different. It didn't look like claymation at all. The movements so fluid, they appeared to be real. And I loved the movie. And then out of nowhere, years later, it exploded into cult status and a bunch of new merchandise was made for it to feed the masses and line the pocketbooks of Disney. I wonder how much control Tim has over TNBC. And how much royalty he makes off it all too.Finchx0rz wrote:

With that said, I am taking my daughter to see it in the theater for the first time on her birthday. We have the DVD, but she's never seen it on the big screen. And the only other kid movies playing are Beverly Hills Chihuahua, which isn't worth a second ticket and HSM3, and she is one of the only 10 year old girls in the world who despises HSM. So proud of her
