I think 2 weeks is the near-automatic limit on all films that don't come in at least #2 at the Box-Office.

I really don't understand why so many people are giving high praise to Pirates of the Caribbean 2. It's more of the same and it's too long. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Superman Returns - A
Mission Impossible 3 - B+
The Da Vinci Code - B
X-Men: The Last Stand - B
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - B-

Wow! Has hell froze over? Chris ranking Cars over Depp's performance as Capt. Jack Sparrow!?! :o

C'mon, nothing Pixar has ever done has ever come close to Pirates of the Caribbean: COTBP or DMC! Especially Cars, I mean, they should've renamed it to "Toy Story 2: With Cars"! And critics claim that Disney repeats itself.

Okay, I'll try to remember the ones I've seen.
Chicken Little - C
As much as my family hated this movie, I quite enjoyed it. I think that Disney had large hopes for this, but it's obvious it's no where near what Disney needs for a rejuvenation. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant animation, but definitely not an Oscar winner.
Walk the Line - A
I loved this movie. It's a fantastic love story and I think that it was really cute and was made in kind of an old style way. Even though it was meant to be set in the 60s, and we knew it wasn't made then, it didn't feel like it was made now. It felt very relaxed and was a nice movie, partly due to great writing, and extremely good performances from not only Reese and Joaquin, but the rest of the cast.
Take the Lead - C
An all right movie, didn't enjoy it as much as others. Antonic Banderas was good in it, but the whole film felt kind of cheap and predictable. It was enjoyable though, and I loved that Paige from Degrassi- the Next Generation was in it. Alfre Woodard (Betty Applewhite from Desperate Houswives) also added to the enjoyable qualitites of the film.
Over the Hedge - C
A good animated film, but very very over-rated. I thought that it would be some kind of masterpiece, going off reviews in the newspaper, but it was pretty much the same kind movie as Cars- flashy and over-rated. It had some nice moments though, but will never be an animated classic.
Pirates of the Carribbean 2 - B
I liked this film, I didn't get it for most of the time, and I thought that it was too too long, but in the end, I enjoyed it. It's good as far as sequels go, definitely in the top echelon, but I am hoping that Pirates 3 is better. I am definitely not saying that Dead Mans Chest was bad- it sooooo wasn't- but I just have higher hopes for the final installment of the trilogy. I liked Pirates 2.
Jindabyne - A+
Not many people would know this film but it is my favourite of the year. It is an Australian film, but it has Laura Linney and Gabriel Byrne in the leads. Hugh Jackmans wife, Deborah Lee-Furness, also stars. It tells the story of a group of Aussie men who go fishing, but they find a body of a murdered Aboriginal woman whilst doing so. When they find it, they decide to just tie her onto a nearby tree and wait until the end of the trip until they call the police. When they get back the town is against them for waiting until the end of the trip to call the police. It examines the relationships of families, races and husbands and wives. It is made by the same person who made the Anthony LaPaglia film Lantana. This film is extremely well-made, performed and written. I urge everyone who hasn't heard of it, to research it on the internet, and hopefully you can either view it at the cinema or on DVD. It is a great film.

Well there you go, the films I've seen this year. I'll add to it as I see more movies.

Three more movies to add to this thing.
Inside Man - B
I saw this ages ago, but I forgot to add it to this. This was a really good movie, very slick and interesting, great actors added to it. Great idea for a movie and Spkie Lee has done a brilliant job with it, as he always does. Clive Owen, Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, and Christopher Plummer all did great jobs, better than your average thriller. Thought-provoking.
The Devil Wears Prada - B
This one I saw two days ago, and I loved it, I thought that it was great and it's probably the best commercial chick flick of the year. It's reallysimiliar to the current America Ferrerra sitcom Ugly Betty. Meryl Streep was good, and everyone says that it was her filmand that she stole the show, but I thought that Anne Hathaway was much better in it. Meryl was still great though. Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and Simon Baker (An Aussie! :) His show Smith just got cancelled :( ) were all outstanding all supporting actors. Great idea for a movie, I just wish that I read the book first.
Friends With Money - A
I think that this was possibly the best film of the year. I saw it yesterday and I thought that it was absolutely fantastic. A really good portrayal of middle-age, with some outstanding performances, particularly from Frances McDormand and Catherine Keener. Jennifer Aniston and Joan Cusack, along with Greg Germann, Jason Issacs and Simon McBurney all add to this incredibly wonderful movie. My favourite couple was Frances and Simon (the gay one). They were really from opposite ends of the world, but they still love each other, I thought that that was brilliant and moving. I hope that the script get an Academy Award nomination. I loved it.

I also saw Aeon Flux on DVD three days ago, and I guess that I'd give it a C+. I was good, but I just didn't get it. It was a weird storyline and it just didn't appeal to me. the actors were good though, especially the ones who had to train extensively for it, ie Charlize Theron, Sophie Okonedo, etc. Charlize Theron gets brownie points for training so hard for this film. Good supporting from Frances McDormand.

That's all for now.

Sorry, nope. It's not one of those films you enjoy, because it is rather dull, but its message to me is extremely important. Plus, I'm a democrat, so I just had to give him the recommend. :thumb: :P

Marie Antoinette A,A,A Th best movie I have seen this year, great scenery and costumes and Kirsten Dunst's performance was amazing!! Finally someone destroyed the image of the "Let them eat cake" Queen.

The DaVinci Code A,A Normally I don't like thrillers but this one had me hooked (I haven't read the book yet though). I am a fan of Audrey Tatou and I liked the controversial topic if the movie. It was really exciting.

Last Holiday B This was a nice movie, nothing else, just sit there laugh, enjoy

The Devil wears Prada C- Althoug everyone said this was so great I didn't think so. The plot was absolutey predictable and Mery Streep wasn't nearly as "evil" as she was proclaimed. Anne Hathaway was pretty good though. I didn't like it. I thought it was boring and too long.

I didn't go to the movies much this year. Normally I go there more often.
