What summer movie are you most excited about seeing in 2007?
Wow, now I actually know when these movies are coming out. Half of them I knew were in production like The Bourne Ultimatum, Evan Almighty, Oceans Thirteen, Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer,Shrek the Third and Transformers. I didn't know that Rush Hour 3 was in production though. Are both Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker going to star? If not, then it won't be good at all.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing all of these movies at one point or another, and also Alice, of which Disneykid mentioned. I'm looking forward to Shrek the Third (don't particularly like the franchise, but I'm willing to give this one the benefit of the doubt), Pirates of the Carribbean 3 (loved the first one, thought the second one was pretty good), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (read the book, and can't really remember what happens in it, but my twin borther will make me see it. Hoping it will be good), and the Simpsons movie. I love the Simpsons and I will definitely admit that it's quality has obviously dipped in the past, I guess 6 years. But I'm hopeful that this movie will redeem itself.
I voted in the poll for The Simpsons Movie. I'm the only one who has.

You know in all honesty none of those movies even remotely excite me in the slightest. However if I were to rank them in order of what I wanted to see most it would probably be:
1. Ratatouille
I have to admit it does look (from the brief trailer) to be much more original than cars, I like the look of the characters, espescially the blue mouse. It looks like I may enjoy it, but I've become a bit wary over Pixar over the past few years, but we'll just have to wait and see.
2. The Simpsons Movie
It'll be interesting to see how this translates to the big screen, although I'm not holding up too much hope in it being an unmissable life altering treat. I sincerely hope it doesn't become a big "ooh we've made a movie that full of guest appearances!" Although again, we'll have to wait and see.
And...
That's it.
I couldn't give a monkeys about the rest
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix I have no interest in seeing after the abomination that was Goblet of Fire, what a way to ruin a perfectly good book and I expect OoP will be butchered in the same way.
Pirates of the Caribbean 3, I haven't seen the 2nd one yet and I was never overly impressed with the first one anyway.
And as for Dreck the Turd, I rather pull my teeth out. I hope it flops alongside all the other sequels and trash on that list.
I'm just happy that 2007 won't be a complete disappointment with Meet the Robinsons, The Bridge to Terabitha and Enchanted at the beginning and end of 2007.

Apparently, the only special guest appearances will be from Albert Brooks, Minnie Driver, Erin Brockovich and Kelsey Grammar (as Sideshow Bob, naturally). I've heard that Brooks will be playing a new one-off character (as he has done in the past) and I'm guessing Minnie Driver will be playing a new character. I have to admit that I'd be a bit disappointed it if it becomes The Simpsons Hollywood Review of 2007.ichabod wrote:2. The Simpsons Movie

I must admit that I'm looking forward to both Enchanted and Meet the Robinsons as well, and they'd probaby top the poll along with my two choices (the same as yours, actuallyichabod wrote:I'm just happy that 2007 won't be a complete disappointment with Meet the Robinsons, The Bridge to Terabitha and Enchanted at the beginning and end of 2007.

From the set reports and the interviews given about the film, I strongly suspect OOTP will be a more faithful adaptation than GOF (more likely because there's a new screenwriter on board and there's a lot less important details than there was in GOF).ichabod wrote:

So far, the scenes that are in the film are:
- Harry defending Dudley from the dementors
- Harry's trial at the Ministry
- Grawp and centaur-related scenes
- Grimmauld Place-related scenes
- The Order flying Harry away from Privet Drive
- Thestrals
- Kreacher-related scenes
- Potions and DADA scenes
- O.W.L. scenes
- Umbridge taking over as Headmaster when Dumbledore escapes the clutches of the Aurors and Fudge
- Occumency scenes
- Snape's Worst Memory
- The final fight at the Department of Mysteries
- Scenes with the D.A.
- Umbridge and the Inquisitatorial Squad interrogating Harry, Ron and Hermione
- Ministry officials Stunning Professor McGonagall when she tries to prevent them from arresting Hagrid
And I am a big HP fan, so OOTP is #1 on my list, The Simpsons Movie as #2 and Spiderman 3 as #3.

Don't forget Fred and George leaving Hogwarts (one of the best scenes in the book).azul017 wrote: So far, the scenes that are in the film are:

Also, I hope the scene where Umbridge watched over McGonagall's class (another of the best scenes in the book) remains. I love that scene, and I would love to see Maggie Smith and Imelda Staunton face-off.

Listed in an order of most anticipated:
1. Pirates of the Caribbean 3: Definetely! Huge POTC fan! Loved the 1st, the 2nd and the new attraction with the changes. I could go on about how excited I am, but I think almost everyone here has the same feeling.
But overall I just know it'll be cool. In fact, I already made plans to see the midnight showing!
2. Spider-Man 3: I'm a little nervous to how Venom and the loads of amount of villains are going to adapt, but Raimi hasn't steered us wrong before
3. Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer: To this I day, I don't get why the movie has gotten so much hate. Sure, it's not the best comic book adapted film to date, but I thought it was fun and thought it was better than Superman Returns or the original X-Men for example. The only flaw I could see was that it felt to much like it just wanted to introduce the characters a bit too much. Well, since this is a seqeul, I'm sure that flaw will be solved plus with Tim Story saying the film will take a more darker turn, I can see a lot of potential in this film.
4. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Well after actually boycotting the last installment(:P) I think I've decided to see the next one. I'm not sure what I think of it so far. I really liked the first two installments, HATED the third one, and was disappointed in the fourth. OOTP is actually my least favorite series with the books(though I'm still reading Half Blood Prince) but since my favorite(Prisoner of Azkaban) turned out to be my least favorite movie, I might like this more than the others, but I don't know really.
5. The Simpsons Movie: The show has been down hill for a loooong time now. The movie could be good, but I may pass the big screen.
6.Evan Almighty: No Jim Carrey(
) but I may see this. I like Steve Carrel, so it could be very funny, unfortunately though, his role in the original was pretty bland, so I wonder how they'll change that.
7. Rush Hours 3: I'm quite interested in this. I enjoyed the first two and will probably see this.
8.Shrek the Third: I hate Shrek. Well "hate" is a strong word, I probably wouldn't say "hate", but I dislike it enough to pass on this. The first one was an awesome ride the first time, but after you watch it more than once, the jokes really aren't THAT funny and you realize it's flaws in it's story, animation, dialogue etc. But I do enjoy the original to some extent, and definetely than some people on this board. The sequel is crap though. A mixture of poor pop-culture references and one dimensional characters. It certainly didn't deserve it's massive box office scores it recieved. I actually hope it bombs.
9. Ratatoullie: The teaser was just flat-out AWFUL. The animation didn't wow me, the story looks like Pixar's most unoriginal tale to date seeing how talking rat stories have been made in animation since 1928. It doesn't have a "Brad Bird" style at all, and the jokes were corny, I honestly thought the teaser for Barnyard was more appealing. At least that SHOWED us something!!! Frankly, I'm hoping this bombs, more than Shrek 3. In fact, I really think this could be the first Pixar film to not pass the $100 million dollar mark. Meet the Robinsons has pretty much confirmed an Oscar in 2008 for "Best Animated film".
10. Ocean's 13: Why are they making this again?
The other films, my anticipation is non-existance, as I know little to nothing about them.
But with the exception of Pirates, Meet the Robinsons will blow them all away.
