I love that video! Its sad though becuase when Timon is singing Pumba is getting struck by lightning or run over or has a bomb or something! :P

I remember that too. I also recall seeing it more than once? I think they played it on Toon Disney way back when between commercials. Like they play music videos on Disney Channel nowadays.

I remember that from when I was a little kid. I have no idea where I saw it, though. I never saw Tom and Huck in theaters and I remember seeing the cover several times.

I have an old VHS tape of the Roger Rabbit shorts that played before several movies, and "Stand By Me" was mixed in with the trailers that played before Roger Rabbit's stuff came on. That's the only place I've ever seen it. Maybe some of you who can't figure out where you've seen it have the Roger Rabbit video... or maybe not.

All well maybe if the Ducktales and Chip and Dale box sets go well we might see Timion and Pumba out and the video will be there. :)

I have this video in my collection, and have transferred it to DVD+R because I don't think it will ever see the light of day on DVD in our lifetime. (Prove me wrong again, Disney, release this along with a whole bunch of other stuff that needs to see a DVD treatment!!)

Looks like it was from the TV series, and a few Youtube comments mention a sing-along, so I'd assume it's not on Disney DVD anywhere yet.

Would've made a great addition to The Lion King: 1 1/2

I like the "Yummy Yummy Yummy" video better than the "Stand by Me". I think it's hilarious!

I remember this being on one of my VHS videos (not sure if I still have it) before the feature, and that was before the Timon and Pumbaa series premiered. Anyone remember if it was ever shown on the program? If so, than maybe we will get it someday if the show ever comes to DVD. I, too, think it should have been on the 1 1/2 DVD though. I also wonder if we'll ever get the videos off Simply Mad About the Mouse on DVD. I would love to be able to toss the VHS, but want the videos on DVD first! They should each come out on the appropriate film DVD releases...

I first saw this as a theatrical short in late '95/early '96 but I can't remember the movie that followed it.

...and a quick check at IMDb says that movie was Tom and Huck. Ahh..now I remember. I was quite a happy camper that day; I got a surprise Timon and Pumbaa cartoon and a JTT fix.

Pumbaa Pumbaa Stand By Me.......

Post by disneyboy20022 »

The reason I remember this is because I just saw this on The Disney Channel the other day. Yes not years ago but about a week or two ago. Amazingly Disney Channel has been showing episodes of Timon and Pumbaa the series about noonish central time but I Could be wrong so check your local listings for hey if its on the Disney Channel perhaps they will release Timon and Pumbaa the series on DVD. Although IF it ever does happen it best be a box set rather than a 3 episode 1 disc like Goof Troop and Quack Pack is. Hey it could happen... Some people on this forum thought that Gummi Bears would never see the light of day except on DVD except for Toon Disney but hey... Look what happened...I also was quite surprised but who knows.

As the Creator of Beanie Babies Ty Warner always says...

"Expect the Unexpected!"

Ha, I must have seen it then too, because I did catch that one in theaters. Got a Rachael Leigh Cook fix myself, ha, though I doubt I was into her at the time since she was pretty young then, just thought she was a cutie and could play a good live-action Sailor Mercury. I actually liked that movie, but I'm a big fan of Tom and Huck films. Need to get the DVD. I only have it on VHS.

Don't bother unless you just want a VHS with chapter stops. It's a barebones P&S release.

In R2, it's OAR, but still barebones.
