While I did enjoy <i>Soarin'</i> a lot, I didn't find it to be quite as thrilling as other people. It might have something to do with the fact that I was on the bottom row, or that the advertisements/posters for the attraction never made it quite clear what exactly to expect. The lack of differing odors (everything smelled like pine trees to me!) might also have played a role in my mild underwhelming feeling. Even so, it is definitely something I look forward to revisiting the next time I'm lucky enough to be in a Disney park.

I rode Soarin' twice in 2005 (at DCA), once on the top row and once on the bottom. The ride was awesome the first time (when I was on top), it really felt like I was flying. It was much less so the second time (when I was on the bottom), the dangling feet of your fellow guests (which can easily be seen) causes some of the illusion to be lost, at least IMO.

I honestly think that they should have themed Soarin' at WDW to Florida. It's themed to California at the California Adventure, so I think it should be Florida in Florida.

Those of you who don't think it would work might want to look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYaotKPxknM. The only thing about the video I would change is to end it with a flyover of WDW's Magic Kingdom, like how DCA's ride ends with a flyover of Disneyland.
