I'm new to this great group and I couldn't find a thread for the Narnia DVD. This is a cool link with info on the features the DVD will have. I can't wait to own it! I'm going with the 2-disc version all the way!
You have been around way longer than me, I think your judgement is the best.

Thanks for the welcome!Luke wrote:Welcome to the forum, Sirbrandon!I can either merge this thread with the press release and subsequent discussion thread (which would lose the poll) or I can move it to Polls & Games and let people merely vote and post which of the two options they'll go for. Alternatively, if you make a second post simply discussing the DVD, then I can split that and it to the Press Release, while moving the rest to Polls & Games. Let me know what you want to do and if you don't understand what I've just said (I'm not sure I do) or don't care, then I'll just use my judgment.

You have been around way longer than me, I think your judgement is the best.

Well, it is £35, which is about $60!
The book and keyring are not in the regular 2 disc edition.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

And the additional larger 'wardrobe' box that holds the extra gubbins.2099net wrote:Well, it is £35, which is about $60!

It IS pricey, but magic costs.
And like PatrickvD, I'm a sucker for fancy boxes.

Guess I'm stuck just getting the regular version. Not that I'm complaining, of course. U.S.'s 2-Disc version still looks pretty sweet!
Anyway, Disney's hopes of beating out Harry Potter has finally happened! This last weekend, Narnia's domestic gross came to $289,847,008, surpassing Goblet of Fire's current total of $289,710,552. Heh...when I first heard that that was Disney's goal I didn't think Narnia would ever catch up...but I guess I was wrong.

A 6/10? C'mon. At least give it aN 8/10 or an 7/10!
This is also the same site that gave the light Toy Story 2 set a 10/10 for bonus material so I don't think we should take IGN seriously!

Timon/Pumba fan, you have to READ the entire review, which is three pages long. They gave the FILM a score of 6/10. They gave the VIDEO a 9/10, the AUDIO a 10/10, and the EXTRAS a 10/10. The gave the OVERALL DVD a 9/10.Timon/Pumba fan wrote:That review was way too harsh!MadonnasManOne wrote:IGN.com has posted their review of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (Special 2-Disc Collector's Edition).

I'm glad the reviewer loved the DVD, I just disagreed with the reviewer's opinion of the movie.

Well, it looks like people wanting to buy the 2-Disc version of "Narnia" are going to pay through the nose, if purchasing from a physical store. So far, Circuit City is going to charge $24.99, and Best Buy is charging $26.99. I can't believe how ridiculous that is! I'm half tempted to take my $5.00 deposit from Best Buy, and just not buy the DVD at all. In fact, Best Buy is screwing me over on the $5.00 pre-order deal, anyway. If you pre-ordered The Chronicles of Narnia, and purchased a Disney DVD for $14.99 or more (which I did), you were supposed to get $5.00 off the $14.99 or more DVD. That did not happen, because I purchased Lady and the Tramp: Platinum Edition, but, because I got the free plush, they wouldn't give me $5.00 off. Of course, they didn't tell me this at the time. So, I looked at the receipt a few days later, and realized this. I called the store, and they told me to bring in the receipt, and they would take care of it. I went in, and showed it to the customer service counter, and she refused to give me the $5.00 credit, because I got the Tramp plush. I couldn't believe it. This is Best Buy, a company I've bragged about, ever since I first started shopping there. I mean, if they were going to exclude me from taking the $5.00 off, they should have told me this when I was checking out. They should have put a statement on the pre-order slip that said the offer could not be combined with other offers. It did not state this.
I'm sorry for rambling, but, it makes me so mad, especially since seeing the ridiculous prices they are charging for the 2-Disc.

Right now, this makes <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... .com</a>'s $23.26 price all the more attractive, especially next to the oddly-SRP-priced lot of other Disney DVDs. But, yes I agree with you that retailers pricing on the premium version makes the two-release method that's currently in rather unappealing, even when the SRPs are just a few dollars apart.MadonnasManOne wrote:I'm sorry for rambling, but, it makes me so mad, especially since seeing the ridiculous prices they are charging for the 2-Disc.

are there going to be any freebies? I got Lithographs with Polar Express & Incredibles. I did not do the $5 preorder offer @ Best buy cause I got L&TT at CC.
Walmart might be cheaper. And Target might be a little cheaper. I guess I'll have to wait for the sunday ads to decide. If this local electronics store called Nebraska Mega Mart has a good price, walmart usually matches that price (I got Cinderella for a good price @ Walmart due to the ad matching).

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.
