- Yes, the new product does come in that case and its shrinkwraped.

- As you may know, the Disney Stores and Merchandise locations in the parks are run by different organizations. Currently, the new park videos will only be available in the park locations, the Orlando airport, the Disney store on I-drive in Orlando and through the phone and email contact.

- Does anyone know how to contact Megastore? They do not seem interested in carrying new or current product.

- What would you like to hear about the new products. I'll be happy to desrcibe it to you.

- Just so there are no surprises. The Christmas video is exactly the same as it was two years ago but it has a new red package. The VHS does not have the Osborne lights but the DVD does have a multi-angle walk through the lights in the the special features.[/i]

I was referring to the Magical Gatherings disc, not the one that MicFan posted. :) Sorry for not making that clear.

About this Christmas DVD, is there only one in existence? This one has been on my online DVD wish list for a long time. I'm assuming it's the one that y'all are talking about?

The Christmas VHS and DVD is titled "The Magic of Christmas at Walt Disney World." Again, beware of packaging switcharoos! The latest version in DVD has a special feature section that includes the storytellers at EPCOT and a multi-angle tour of the Osborne lights when they were on the studio tour backlot (which is gone now).

That product is available at the Disney phone number too.

Other than the "Disneyland USA" Treasures set, the only ones I know of are two from Tokyo Disney Resort: "The Complete Guide" and "Tokyo Disneyland 20th Anniversary". (I have them both.) Are there DVDs like these available from Disneyland Paris or the American Disney Theme Parks?
I don't know if anyone is interested, but I have a theme park laserdisc that was released 14 years ago in 1990 called "Tokyo Disneyland". It has lots of interesting footage of the park and attractions, and a nice big map of the park on the back of the jacket:

I have another laserdisc, actually a "double feature" with a 1998 version of Tokyo Disneyland. The second feature is "History Of Tokyo Disneyland" with footage from the opening day. I also have quite a few laserdiscs that were used in The Disney Store. You know, the giant screen at the back of the store that is always playing promotions for their videos, current features and TV shows? They used to use laserdiscs for that display, but I suppose they now use DVDs. They change them every month. They aren't sold to the public, just for store promotional use. I have one called "Christmas 1994" among others.

If you're talking about the one I posted above, it's not on DVD. It was released 14 years ago on laserdisc. The second laserdisc was celebrating the 15th anniversary of Tokyo Disneyland. The only ones released to DVD in Japan are the 20th Anniversary specials.

Thanks MicFan,

Would you mind posting a quick rundown of the content... what is this DVD all about - is it just Christmas parades and light shows, etc at DisneyWorld??

Working on a spec sheet for the Christmas product now. I believe a mistake was made on the barcodes for the VHS and DVD so be sure to ask if you order it from Disney. Report back if you can confirm it.

Current Christmas DVD (red case) : 0013216113 $14.99
Current Christmas VHS (red case) : 0013216114 $9.99

Making of Animal Kingdom VHS only : 0013200100 $9.99
(It appears this product may be discontinued when the new DAK video and DVD hits the shelf in about a month)
