Who likes AMERICAN DAD??

American Dad is a less superior show than Family Guy. Even with most of the creative people on board from Family Guy, the show isn't that funny. Not to mention that compared to Family Guy, everything in American Dad is strictly second-rate (the song isn't catchy, the animation looks cheap, and the characters aren't interesting at all).

While Family Guy has some influences from The Simpsons, it's much more different in tone. Stewie is a far cry from Maggie, Lois has more spunk than Marge, Chris is dumber than Bart, and Meg has more insecurity than Lisa. Frankly, the only thing FG stole directly from The Simpsons was the fat antihero in the vein of Homer Simpson (although Peter is more stupid than Homer). And the two friends that Peter hangs out with aren't similar to Homer's at all. Not to mention the one-liners and gags in FG are more risque and offensive.

I think Seth MacFarlane should just put American Dad out its misery and just stick to Family Guy.

I really don' t care for either Family Guy and I even care less about American Dad. On the other hand, my wife really like the Family Guy and is still giving American Dada try. American Dad just doesn't seem as good as Family Guy and I think Seth is going to hurt both shows with both running. (Just like The Simpsons and Fuitrama split the Matt's efforts.)

I also think Family Guy took from The Simpsons:

1) The number of dream/memory sequences from the Family Guy is pure 5th season Simpsons.
2) The Simpsons were on the forefront of using pop-culture humor without these references intrerupting the narrative. (I know the old Looney Tunes used the same techniques but The Simpsons really brought to modern audiences.)

The Simpsons want to playfully make fun of everyone while the Family Guy want to insult everyone.

I don't really like American Dad cuz it's kinda stupid. I mean what is up with the alien? If you're gonna make a show about a family make it some what realistic likf Family Guy. Now there is a good show, the episode last night, I laughed my ass off. I did like the new show The War at Home or something like that, I thought it was stupid too.

Yeah for some reason the alien was weird. I mean Brian(the talking dog on Family Guy) is cool, but that alien in this show seems out of place.

Last night's episode wasn't that good either. I mean I kinda liked the SCI-Fi convention and when that Lord Of the Rings fan convinced them that American Dad was the one that convinced Lucas not to release the original Star Wars

, but the rest of the show was a let-down. It didn't make me laugh that much, again.

I Just Really staring Like Family Guy During The Summer

The Simpsons is my favorite show and I used to think they were the same but they are different and both funny for different reasons.

Im A fan of adult cartoon from simpsns south park an family guy

but

I saw a few episodes of American Dad
I found it not really funny... I think The Show is a backup for Seth McFarline.. like someone said they put the things on here that there too afraid to say on family guy.

Family Guy is funny because of the chracters and the pop culture things... but they try to do that in american dad.

Like Matt Groening I found Futrurerama to be very boring and not funny and thats one of the reasons why I think the Simpsons have been back since its 12th season.

I dont think American Dad will last more and I think it would be more funny if he did it after family guy ended
