Lately, the American music industry has been giving thritysomethings such as her and Gwen Stefani more of a chance. Not unlike in 2004, where 13 year old JoJo who was barely wearing nothing and signing about dumping her boyfriend( okay, I'm 14. I've never had a boyfriend and right now I'm sitting in front of my computer typing this messgae while eating a sundae.). JoJo made feel like a loser because I was 12 when she came out and I wasn't really doing anything with my life. Now looking back, I sort of feel sorry for JoJo because she was overexposed at a young age. Basically what I'm saying is that it's good for Mariah Carrey to be overexposed rather than some young teenage girl.
I think what you said there had a very good point. I don't really like Mariah (I'm not a fan of RnB), but at least it's people like Gwen and her getting attention as opposed to some young teenager forced into stardom, which is exploitation, to an extent.

She's not overexposed at all. I don't see her everytime I turn on the TV or anything.

If anyone was asking for my opinion on Mariah, I personally think she's incredibly boring. I almost think she's overrated. Christina Aguilera is someone I truly can't get enough of and has the best voice I've ever heard in my life. No one can tell me otherwise. I've heard them both, and Christina just has a stronger voice and a better range.
