I knew it would be able to use the Gamecube controllers, but does anyone know if that includes the Wavebird controllers?

I didn't know that the controller was going to be able to "dock" on something to make a "normal" controller. That article looks great.

Ok I'm finally excited about a next gen system.

Well, at least here Nintendo sold less units than Microsoft or Sony did, when in the times of snes Nintendo was the king of the entretaiment systems, but PS won allies and clients after Nintendo released the N64 as a cassete system, instead of a Cd system as it was first rumored.

Some people thought that when the Gc came out, Nintendo would win teh war that was unleashed not only with sony but also with the new contender of this fight. Nintendo went with the just-4-play system instead of a 4-all-use one...wrong choice, many people as I who was devoted to Nintendo went for better systems like Xbox and I don´t regret it at all, and who would be with hits like Halo?

this new control may be useful with other stuff like tv´s, music systems or home theaters but maybe in japan only, remember what happened when Nintendo tried to release here the DD, or the weird thing that was connected under the N64

Yup, Nintendo is going down by Sony Playstation. If Nintendo doesn't act fast and change it ways it's going to be dead.

Yeah Nintendo is in last place here as well, but what I was talking about was them making a profit on the console hardware. Sony/Microsoft at one time/still might be selling their console and actually losing money from the hardware. Of course they made that up easily in software sales, etc...

I don't remember the DD, it never came to the US.

I'm actually glad Nintendo so far has remained a console only. I don't need it to play movies, etc.. because I have other equipment for that. Although I do know several people that used the PS2 as a DVD player until they eventually bought a player. Although I can see where people might like these extras, I just personally don't see the need for them.

I do think Nintendo needs to look at online gaming some. Mario Kart/The other Mario "Sports" Titles would be great online as well as other games.

that´s what I ment!

Because of the incapacity to adapt the Disk Drive to the bandnetwork in the US and all the American continent it was impossible to bring this feature here, but that device upgraded the n64 graphics, added some new worlds to games like Mario and Zelda ad even you could play online like you do now in the Xbox

Also it was 3 features games for this one, where you could make mny cool things like scanning your photo to make yourself a N64 character and be used as a fighting playable character on one of those games

That actually sounds like a pretty cool add on to the N64. To bad it didn't take off.

I hate that thing- it looks like a tv remote control. Blah! They should keep the design the same as other game console systems. A controller, not a tv remote

I was a bit doubtful at first, but after reading more about the controller, i'm getting more and more excited, and im glad to see there will be a GC style controller in which the 'remote' sits. :)

well I think with the conventional controller cradle/shell thing this may work and be an awsome thing. Thanks for the link MadonnasManOne :) .

Aren't the people playing the game supposed to be able to hold their controller with two hands? Maybe if this remote were thicker... And the new games require faster reflexes, I forsee this as being a grave error. One of the reasons I never liked computer games is because you can't hold the keyboard with both hands.

Well, the idea behind this new controller is that there are different ways it can be held, allowing for different ways to to play. If you notice, the controller is basically set up like the older controllers, except that they are displaying it vertically. It can be held horizontally, as well. Also, with the "controller shell" that Nintendo has announced, the new controller will fit inside a traditional looking controller "shell", so people will be able to play using more current controller configurations.

I think that people are freaking out too much about this new Revolution controller, when the gaming press, who've actually used the controller, stated that it is the most intuitive, and easy to pick up, and play. I can't wait to get my hands on the system. I think it will change the way we play games, forever.

It sucks!

The Sega Genesis controller was the only good one. :) Nah kidding but I liked that one a lot.

This new controller looks interesting but I prefer the two handed 'boomerang' shaped one simply because I've used that one for so long but I wouldn't mind trying out this one.

One controller I didn't mind as a kid but I don't like now is the NES one. That little rectangle thing... blech.

You haven't played it yet, so you don't know if it "feels" good to play games.

I just think its a bad idea. I have lots of TV remotes, and I don't need to add another one to the collection

Right, because every controller has a giant "A" button and a "Nintendo" logo on it.

I'm starting to like this idea less and less now. I'd much prefer if it were a controller with the same model as the Gamecube or PS2. Nintendo has been coming up with some pretty "WTF" themed control meathods lately (DS), but I'll give it a chance.
