the first wave is on sale right now at Futureshop for only C$20 each.

the second wave is about C$35 each. any chance that this will be on sale soon especially wave 3 is coming out later? hopefully by the time the wave 3 comes out, those wave 2 will be down to C$20 each then i'll buy.

i'll probably get the first wave for now since i'm interested in watching the Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky.

It also dosn't contain all Miyazaki's movies. It is missing Nausicaa and Firefies is by Takahata.

i saw this one too --> http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 53094&rd=1 which contains 12 Miyazaki's movies but doesn't have any english dubbing.

i think there's no such thing like a box set that has an english dub.

Not all of those movies are by Miyazaki, the other directors/producers are Takahata and Kondo. We usually call the group "Studio Ghibli".

so you mean it's still better to collect the R1 releases than buying those fake boxsets? do you think they will come up with a boxsets release in R1?

are all the movies listed here --> http://www.ultimatedisney.com/ultimateanimated.htm from Miyazaki or mixed? which are the original Miyazaki's movies?

thanks for your help guys.

Hi

If you want to support the bootleg industry go ahead and buy one of their cheap bootleg sets. But it is deffinately not legit.

No, the movies are mixed. Studio Ghibli is the whole studio with different directors that make the movies. Miyazaki is one of the directors. Miyazaki is great, but the others are as good as he is. Just because they are not "Miyazaki" dosn't mean they are not as good.

Here are the directors/producers movies:

Miyazaki: Castle of Caligostro(not a Ghibli movie), Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, On Your Mark(a short 5 min film) Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle

Takahata: The Grave of the Fireflies, Only Yesterday, Pom Poko, My Neighbors the Yamadas

Kondou: Whisper of the Heart

Morita: The Cat Returns

Ocean Waves was made by a group of young animators (now seasoned), but I do not know who the director was.

Tomomi Mochizuki directed Ocean Waves. He is a famous director of romance anime.

Miyazaki wrote the screenplay and did the storyboads for Whisper of the Heart.

hello guys,

i just bought the 1st wave of Miyazaki's movie but i haven't open it yet. while i was reading the reviews for the 2nd wave (as i am planning to buy soon), i saw this -->
A fold-out booklet features ads for The Art of Porco Rosso, the Nausicaä manga collection, Bambi, and a time-sensitive offer to get either Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service or Castle in the Sky for just $1.99 shipping and handling, if you buy all three of the current wave's releases.
so what i am thinking is to simply buy all the 2nd wave and get one the 1st wave under this promo.

I just want to know to all who owned the 2nd wave, what is the expiration of the promo? is it valid for canadian residents?

I would go with The Fox and the Hound, since it is the only one out of the three that I have seen . . .
Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.
