Tangled

Post by Disney Duster »

Margos and Escapay, yea that's kind of it but I didn't mean multiverses. I meant like if Cinderella was real life but the storybook writers didn't write down how she really got her name. But I think you got it, just not the idea of it being seperate universes.

Disneyboy, no, The Emporer's New Groove was not really based on The Emporer's New Clothes and it is not a fairy tale film. The others aren't fairy tales or fairy tale films except Pinocchio and The Little Mermaid which DID NOT stray as far away from the original story as Tangled is. They strayed, but not as much.

If you're going to work to Disney, you always must consider what Walt would have wante and done because otherwise why are you going to that studio and not some other studio? Why do we love Disney and not any other studio? It's not just quality, it is all the other things about the company that Walt Disney made, whether you like it or not it's Disney because Walt made it so and so you should think if Walt would approve when you make things there. Otherwise, wouldn't it be just any other studio?

And these days...it seems to become more and more like just any studio, not being Disney anymore...it already seems too Dreamworksy or Warner Brothersy sometimes...

And like I said, the Renaissance was very Walt-like in the subject material. Three fairy tales and Bambi with lions, even concerning royalty and the magic of the stars. Those were the hits, people.

Not really.
When he said he wanted to make Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid and mentioned Aladdin when talking about the kinds of stories he like to make? I said subject material.

Little Mermaid:

Story: mermaid turns into seafoam at the end
Movie: mermaid turns human and marriages her prince

No, they didn't stray far...

^ Beautiful. Love the flowy lines and pose. (Nice hands too!)
I can't imagine having that much hair. It would have to be magical hair, otherwise it'd be so painful!

Wow, I wish I could draw!! Great work! I'm a graphic designer by trade and even went to art school, but anything beyond a thumbnail sketch is pushing it for me!

No, Pinocchio wasn't a fairy tale either. It was written in 1883. A flapper with a bit part doesn't qualify.

It must be ignorance of what else is out there.

robster, I really like it. It has a nice "sketchy" feel to it without erase marks and you pressed down where needed. My sketches are a mess, too much eraser and lines that are unsure of themselves (I've been told on a number of times to ditch the eraser and do as much as I can). I wish I had your talent.

Don't tell Glen Keane but I like your Rapunzel more. She feels more European to me.

Then it must be you aren't doing it properly. I use to have this problem, but I was able fix this problem. Key here is use a kneed eraser and/or electric eraser. Erasing is not that much different from your skills in drawing. in fact erasing is a very essential part of drawing.

and messy sketches are good. it improve your mobile skills in drawing correctly to level like Robster displayed. Judging fromt hat drawing he only displayed, It seems Robster like to go the western disney animation style technique drawing. I go more of comic/ manga approach.

like this drawing of my own character:

I'm sure he'd be happy here that. Glen seems the type of guy that would love people to improve and become better than him. Art is always about improving one's skill.

rumor/fan gibberish... I could say something will be completed soon and no one will be able to check wether it's fact or fiction. Everything after that is just speculation based on TAG blog. Which I believe to be the only true news source.
