Agreed. The original poster art is by far the better of the two. Why they go to all these lengths to create (for the most part) gorgeous theatrical posters and then rarely use the artwork ever again is so befuddling to me. I've always wished they would start doing what they did with the Disney Treasures series and include an "art-card" or print or whatever you wanna call it, of the original poster in with the DVDs.

Oh I guess that cover is legit. I'm all for this so I get 2 movies for pretty much the price of one. And yes I know pocahontas 2 in inferior! Just use it as a coaster if it's that bad.

But how can you use it as a coaster if, like Fox and the Hound, both films are on the same blu-ray disc?

i think a lot of the foreign dubs didn't get it. we in Greece didn't get it as well. and i think this is Disney's decision in general, it's not Disney Spain's choice.

So, the next question will be, do we get the option of seeing "If I never knew you" as a part of the first film? (please, please please)

For me, it's definitely part of a complete Pocahontas since it was originally intended to be in the film. Unlike TLK where Morning Report was inserted due to the success of the Broadway version.

I also think they should put the option there. I don't like the song, but it's unfair to people who do.

I personally don't mind if it's not included/only available as a bonus feature. I hate the montage with the white clouds. It looks so cheap.

As long as it's an option and not permanently stuck onto the film.

Eh... I've hated 'If I Never Knew You' since they put it in the last DVD of the film...The lyrics are almost laughable ("If I never knew you/If i never felt this love/I would have no inkling of" come ON! That's SO clunky sounding..) and Mel Gibson's weak singing sends it into borderline-unwatchable territory for me. I do think it should be a deleted scene that you are able to access in the menu, but I don't think it should be tacked onto the film itself, simply because it wasn't part of the theatrical release (even if it *was* supposed to be) I don't begrudge fans of the song this scene if they like it. That's cool. But, I dunno. I just...it makes me wince, lol.

Yes! They NEED to include the song in this next release of Pocahontas! It feels a little more complete that way than... well... Star Wars is claimed to be.

If I Never Knew You is a frickin beautiful song, BUT I agree about Gibson's singing being 'meh' and finding the foggy flashbacks of Colors of the Wind animation to be lazy. I don't understand why they didn't use a trained singer like they did so many other roles in Disney animation of the 90's, for Smith's songs. Was it something he demanded in his contract or what?

It seems to me that the peeps at Disney are going through a testing or experimental phase to determine how they want to release the classics and their DTV sequels on the new format.

I can't really think of a reason why they paired up the Fantasia's other than the fact that they were running behind schedule. The discs themselves read "Diamond Edition" when I pop them in my PS3, so it was definitely a last minute decision to drop them from the Diamond roster and pair them as a 2-Movie bundle. Personally, I don't mind having theses two titles paired up since they are both cannon classics. I would much rather have each title individually cased, but whatevs, my OCD can be controlled for now.

Bambi and the Beauty sequels got standalone releases because they would never pull this bundle crap under their "prestigious" Diamond banner. My "testing" theory gets more specific with the Beauty sequels. The Enchanted Christmas gets a BD and DVD treatment while Belle's Magical World only gets a DVD release. Will the numbers from TEC and BMW tell Disney wether DTV sequels warrant a HD restoration or should they just be released in SD DVD format?

Fox and the Hound was paired with the DTV sequel and no option on getting standalones, however, they are each getting individual releases in the UK. I'm not sure if this can serve as an indicator that sales were low and they might be entertaining the idea that this was due to the decision of pairing a classic with a DTV. *(Wishful thinking from my part)*

Now, I think that with Pokey they are gonna release a 2-Movie shove-it-down-your-throat Collection, but they will also test the waters with an optional individual release of each movie. Or at least I'm hoping this is what will happen. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm just hoping we get some options. I already caved in with FATH but not sure I want to continue to support these type of releases. They give us so many options on buying a single title as a BD+DVD+DC or BD+DVD, or DVD+BD in a DVD case or DVD only edition. Pretty silly that they don't give us the option on individuals of a "2-Movie Collection".

Have If I Never Knew You (Judy Kuhn, Mel Gibson) ever been commercially released on CD or as a download? I would love it if Disney would release a new Pocahontas soundtrack and include the song!

And are (some of) the songs from Pocahontas II available for purchase on some CD or download?

Well, you have the Spanish version:

PS

Funny thing, my favorite movie is Aladdin. And of course, probably my favorite song A Whole New World. However, IF I NEVER KNEW YOU had been released I think it would have been the best Disney ballad.

Why? Meanwhile A WHOLE NEW WORLD is soft and sweet IF I NEVER KNEW YOU is strong and "contemporary".
