I watched the movie a few weeks ago, and I thought it was pretty cute. I look forward to the show when it premieres (if I remember to watch). It's not something I would watch every week on the dot, but definitely a show I would sit to watch if I saw that it was on.

The scene with Cinderella was kind of sad. Who knew her one regret in life was that she and her sisters were never friends. So depressing.

Having read through over 9 pages of posts by a lot of you, I am wondering if anyone here realizes that this show is aimed at children 5-12? It's a Disney Junior exclusive and will make its network premier on Jan. 11 on Disney Junior.

Trying to compare her looks to the "Chipettes" is ridiculous and uncalled for. My 5-year-old grand daughter is really excited to see this show. I have DVR'd the hour-long pilot for the series and she watches it two or three times a day. She even got some of the merchandise that is available for Christmas this year, and she is ready to become a model Sofia the First.

Those of us who plan on watching it, should include your siblings who are in the age range the show is aimed at, and I think you will realize just how well drawn this series is. And taking place in Storybook land where she will have all the input from the other Disney princesses is going to be an added plus.

Don't be too critical of a show that is aimed at our younger audiences. If they enjoy it, so be it. We shouldn't be so harsh on whether or not the animation is done well or not. After all it is not a show that is going to require our scrutiny about whether the time is right, or the princess is dressed correctly or any of that.

I am going to sit back and watch my 5-year-old enjoy the show each day it is on. I will DVR the episodes for to watch over and over, and probably transfer them to DVD-RW until, or if, a series compilation comes out.

great post and I agree with that.

I just want to inform you though that Disney Junior website have the movie and will be having the episode up on their website to view in case you missed the episode. That's where I watched the movie.

Does anyone know who is singing for Cinderella ? Jennifer Hale was still speaking for her, but have no clue who is singing in that clip....

Sounds a little like the alternate singing voice for Belle in the Enchanted Tales music clip we had?

Wow, that's interesting!!
I was thinking some of the phrasing in the song sounded like Jennifer, but thought they would just be merging the voices together, like the singing/speaking part of 'more than a dream'.
Good for her for now singing, but she doesn't sound like Illene Woods when doing so.

I didn't see anyone on this thread say people shouldn't watch it. If your daughter wants to enjoy it, she can have fun with it till she loses interest. I'd like to watch it but I can't make any promises that I won't think up a snark review of it for fun. And I thought a girl's princess phase was long gone by age 12. Isn't age 7 or so when girl consider stuff such as princesses and ponies "baby stuff" and want makeup, high heels, and an iphone?

Recently, I read about a mother being exasperated that her little daughter got sucked into the promoting of the Sofia show and the girl wanted to wear a princess outfit and hold a wand during the show's pilot. The mother said what would have better than the Sofia show would have been taking Cinderella and placing her on the The Jerry Springer Show with her stepsisters and a 2 vs. 1 fight breaks out. I thought the mother's opinion was pretty funny.

Yes, it's the actual audio as it was shown on TV. It hasn't been tampered with. I've checked. There must have been an error with the film's audio which resulted in an unfortunate similarity to a certain curse word.

I think the actor was being his normal self and then he realized that he was voicing a Rabbit for a kid's show aimed at four year girls and then noticed it was too late ?

It sounds normal and then rushed up and muffled at the end like " Oh crap- I shouldn't be swearing ".

Maybe ?

I am interested in seeing how mermaids are going to incorporated into the series and also whether Ariel will have anything to do with them. I wonder if they will even reference her life as a mermaid because I assume she will be appearing in her human form possibly even wearing her new green/purple dress? It would be nice if there were some merman characters rather than them all being female

Are all the Princesses going to be appearing in this as in Pocahontas and Mulan as well? I hope so! I'm definitely hoping someone uploads clips of the Princesses in the series onto YouTube as this is the only way I will get to see the series and I'm interested in seeing how they will be portrayed etc.

they upload the episode later on on their Disney junior website. I dunno if it's accessible for UKers or not, but they do upload new episode after it's initial air release.
They did it with the premiere movie from November.
