Most of the recent female characters have been quite good role models.Skinny or not.Jasmine from Aladdin wanted to be treated fairly and not as a trophy wife, but her character design is sexualized.Rapunzel wants to be an adult, but she looks like a child.Do you understand what I'm saying Goliath?
Oh, I agree they've become better role models since the 1990's. Especially Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, who is really the first 'feminist' Disney princess. My beef is not with the Disney girls being drawn sexy. I'm a man, how could I object?
My problem is that they're often unrealistically skinny, to the point where it would be unhealthy if they were 'real'. Again, Tiana broke that mold too, if memory serves me well.

Looks ten times prettier then the DS game.
Should of been a fighting game, looking at the health bar. I'd love to see Rapunzel do some of Millia Rage's technique while Flynn does a hadoken
It seems at least Flynn can fight. This is from the synopsis of the game:
"As Flynn, players can climb walls, clear obstacles, engage in sword play, and discover hidden treasures using his 'Flynntuition'." The marketing for Tangled is probably one of the most interesting. Flynntuition?

"Mother Gothel
Manipulative and over-protective, Mother Gothel stole Rapunzel from her parents and locked her in a tower so the world would never know about the power of her magical hair which she uses to remain young. Mother Gothel uses subtle jabs, over-the-top guilt trips, and refrains of "Mother Knows Best" to keep Rapunzel from leaving the tower. But when she begins to separate herself, Mother Gothel slowly descends into madness and will stop at nothing to get her little girl back."
Going to be a VERY interesting "mother" daughter relationship and a VERY layered villain indeed!
I don't know why but Gothel reminds me very much of a female Frollo. It would be interesting since she apparently dies at the end, will Rapunzel try to save her?

Mother Gothel has the potential to be one of the greatest Disney villains ever- in fact, one of the greatest animated villains ever.

I would say the first really 'feminist' princess was Mulan (if you define 'princess' as in belonging to the Disney Princess consumer products line).

I would say Pocahontas broke that mold years ago. She is the heroine with the most 'realistic' body proportions.
I agree with Polizzi... when I saw that concept art, and knowing the thrue motives of Gotherl... I (spoiler) believe Rapunzel cuts her own hair - it wouldn't make sense for Gother to cut it.
Maybe by Disney standard (and even that is debatable) but not overall animation in history. That's just narrow mind thinking if you think otherwise.

Exactly. Perhaps, not anime which I'm not familiar with, but certainly in Western animation.
Even in Western Animation, I wouldn't agree with this. Have you ever watch Batman the animated series? That's filled with emotional complexity villains: Clayface, Two-face, Mad Hatter, or the most recent Batman: Red Hood movie. I could go on.
Guys!guys!I just had the most unusual dream.I was dreaming that I was watching Tangled with unfinished animation on VHS, which is technically impossible. But I didn't finish watching the movie.I only saw the beginning. In the beginning (other than little Rapunzel and the intro) it showed Flynn and his gang in a meeting. One of the members of the gang had something against Hookand and other thieving gangs. The peculiar gang member wanted to make sure that Flynn found the right hiding spot.Flynn says he has a hiding
spot, but he doesn't.Flynn is lying so he won't get his ass-kicked by this peculiar member.
After this scene,I didn't continue to watch the movie.I ran away from someone who was after me.
This is NOT legit. This is based on a dream that I had last night.
i just love the fact that this fairytale is made into a movie, except i still dont like the fact its computer-animated...the concept art is so beautiful and reminds me of cinderella and sleeping beauty...i think the slapstick too is a really sad thing...but im holding my opinion to myself a bit longer about this movie, waiting until it gets released..hopefully it'll be great...
Actually, I think that's Gothel. Aside from the hair, the facial structure is exactly the same and the expression on her face looks a slight bit menacing.

Yeah, you're probably right. It must be a younger version of Gothel.
I wasn't that sure either at first but then i had another look and It is Gothel,
Anyways according to Wikipedia the New trailer will be released on the 3rd of August. I don't know how reliable this source is, can anyone confirm this is genuine
