$15.99 @ Amazon.com, and it qualified for free shipping since it was in the same advanced order as The Hangover and Inglourious Basterds (will photograph and post prices when I receive those).
Finally got the old Ewoks animated series DVD that makes two movies out of several episodes. Wish they'd just release the series as it was, but whatever...
Also finally got "Now You See Him, Now You Don't". Been wanting to complete my Dexter Riley trilogy forever!
Argh, I just went to Big Lots tonight, and the trouble with that place is you see DVDs you want but need to research a bit before buying (like, to see if the movies are already out on blu-ray, or if it is not what you expect or available in a set you want or better edition or something), but you know that they probably won't be there the next time you come, so you feel pressured to buy them right then. Yeah, they're only 3 dollars most of the time, heck, a few I got today were 2 dollars, but that can add up, especially when you have to count every dollar.
Anyway, here's what I came back with: The Legend of Frosty the Snowman (2 dollars), The Littles Christmas Special (2 dollars), Popeye's Voyage: The Quest for Pappy (2 or 3, I forget), That's Entertainment (3), Mowgli's Brothers (with Very Merry Cricket) (2), and The Roaring Twenties (3).
I'm already regretting getting the Littles Christmas Special at least. As I've read, it's not a Christmas Special at all, just episodes of the show. Not even Christmas episodes! What's the deal? Well, at least I'll get to see that show again. Used to watch it as a kid. And, I later realized Mowlgi's Brothers is in a Chuck Jones set I've been wanting, and the Roaring Twenties is also available in a set. Plus, That's Entertainment has a blu-ray set, though, they actually say it looks terrible and the DVD has better picture quality... That's what I read a lot anyway. The only thing I'm really irked about is the Littles Christmas Special, though Mowgli's Brothers was probably a waist too, as I will probably get that set eventually...
Anyway, after that, I stopped at Hastings, as I've long been meaning to get "The Bishop's Wife", so I finally did. I also want to get the TCM 4 holiday film set they have there, but I couldn't spare 20 bucks for it, plus tax. Hopefully I can land it before Christmas.
jrboy, could you show some more pics of the three Pirates of the Caribbean and Nightmare Before Christmas steelbooks? Also, how much did they cost individually?
