Hehe, I know! I'm just dreaming. I don't understand why Disney are being so neglectful of many of their animated movies. As you are saying, would it have killed them to release at least some merchandise for "cult" Disney films as you call them? They would off course sell out and it would have meant so much for the diehard Disney fans to see something other than the most popular princesses get some merchandise. I would have LOVED it if Disney Store/the Disney parks would have made (expensive/deluxe) figurines, snow globes, stuffed toys etc of the characters from Hercules, Hunchback, Pocahontas etc.ProfessorRatigan wrote: I can all ready tell you, that ain't going to happen. I mean, Pocahontas and Mulan have a shot, but Hercules and Hunchback? No chance. (As sad as that makes me.) I'm convinced that the ONLY way to get merchandise--ANY merchandise--for these films is to flood Disney with requests for it. Because, otherwise, they will continue to ignore anything that isn't Diamond Edition or Princess Related. Would it KILL them to OCCASIONALLY, just occasionally, mind you, release the odd plush for the 'cult' Disney films. They'd sell...fans would buy them out in a heartbeat. I mean, look at that Gaston doll. How fast did it sell out? And how long had fans clamored for Gaston merch? They STILL haven't restocked him. Or those really lovely Robin Hood plushes from around 2008? Wouldn't it be nice if Disney threw the fans of these films a bone every now and then like that?
But just being a part of the Disney Princess franchise does not ensure getting a lot of merchandise sadly. Belle and Ariel seem to get a lot of attention, while all the others seems to be featured in a lesser degree. Cinderella and Snow White get's less attention than Ariel and Belle. Aurora get's less attention than Cinderella and Snow White. And then you have Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana who are almost totally ignored. Some of the princesses seems to get an upswing in merchandise the year their movie comes out on Blu-ray/DVD (like Aurora last year and Jasmine this year). Look on the Pocahontas and Mulan page on Disney Store, and you find almost nothing to buy. Especially nothing for adult fans, it's all for kids. The same could be said for Jasmine untill recently, but Disney seems to be flooding their store with Aladdin merchandise in anticipation of the Blu-ray/DVD release.
