Well, i just saw a commercial for the blu-ray combo packs, and disney does explain that it will carry a dvd of the movie as an extra, so i guess people won't be as confused, but they fail to mention the release of the 2 disc dvd :x, which obviously shows that the dvd won't get any special attention, cause they are commercializing it in the blu-ray, so people still won't know about it unless their UD members lol, not good for dvd buyers....

But then they show the DVD combo pack as the smaller blu-ray size, and the Blu Ray combo as the DVD size...
Disney is doing this on purpose to get more Blu-Ray Discs out and promote Blu-Ray even more.

I was proud of Disney when I saw those clips, I figured they were actually going to be honest about the product- then I saw the packaging, with the stickers and all the extra stuff. It's really under-handed, but Disney's a buisness, so what are you going to do?

 That cracks me up. However, I'm sure there are some casual buyers out there without a blu-ray player who would pick up the standard edition if they even knew it was coming.

I fear there will be a countless amount of combo packs returned to the stores because of this confusion. Disney is probably counting on at least one in five buyers to say "oh we'll just buy a Blu-ray player", but BD technology is still not popular with many people.

Disney is going to lose fans with this. People are going to call and complain to them as well. It isn't right what they are doing.

Also, when you open the DVD you cannot return it for your money back, only get the same item. Glad I am on this site so that wouldn't happen to me lol.

And I think it's terribly sad because this reissue of "Snow White" was meant to be such a happy, joyous event. It's all going down the drain now, thanks to Disney's hap-hazard mismanagement of the entire campaign... :x

Very funny, well that's not true, i was also reluctant to buy blu-ray, but then i got a flat screen well hubby did, then he got a ps3 and to try it out i got slepping beauty and it was ammmmaaaziing, but funny enough i still bought tinkerbell and pinocchio on dvd cause the price was too high for those on blu-ray, but i decided even with a blu-ray player and all, I will only re-buy my favs on blu-ray and others on dvd... ironic no?? lol

I let some employees at Wal-Mart about Snow White know its not going to be....and all the workers I talked to were shocked to learn despite the 2 differ packaging...it was the same product....so that is why I am going to Wal-Mart next week at midnight because during the day will be full of return or complain central way..

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the "happy, joyous event" is going down the drain. I mean, it would be the customer's fault if they couldn't read packaging correctly. It's like the stupid parents who get confused as to which disc in a two-disc set has the movie (hint: it will say "Feature Film" or "Disc 1"!).

I highly doubt that their will be "mass returns" people aren't that stupid...while I'll think they're will be some confusion I doubt anyone will really care too much.

I agree with just about everyone who has said that this misleading information on the packaging is ridiculous. You'd think that being a company that distributes children's movies, they would want to pay some respect for their customers by making things easier. Then again, when have they ever made things easy for their customers...

The one thing I know for sure is that at the moment I have a DVD player, and I can't see that changing anytime between now and next Tuesday (although if it did that would be pretty awesome :P ). I also know for sure that I want to be able to watch not only the film, but the bonus features as well, which I why I will patiently wait until November (or after the Holidays), to get my copy on DVD, thank you very much. :)

I partially agree with this. Say you are someone who has not yet upgraded to Blu. Not knowledgeable to UD and the $10 off coupons and nice perks like that, wouldn't you be pissed off to find out that the $25 - $30 movie you just bought isn't compatible with your home entertainment system? Granted, the film is on the bonus DVD disc that comes with the movie, but what if you wanted to watch the bonus features? I would be pissed, but that's just me. Will there be "mass returns"? No. Will there be a fairly high amount of returns? Most likely.

I know. Most people don't give a rat's ass about bonus features, so if they buy the Blu in DVD packaging thinking it's DVD, they'll open it, and realize, "Oh, two Blu-Rays with my DVD...hmm", then proceed to watch the DVD.

It's the people at UD, online readers, and few-and-far-between special-features-junkies who'll get annoyed at the "deceptive" packaging.

Even then, people are paying 10 extra dollars for a Blu-Ray when they only need or can only use one of the three discs.
People can see the Blu Ray packaged discs and see that is says "DVD Copy included!".. When they get to the DVD packaged one, why on earth would they even THINK that it would be a Blu Ray disc set? When has a Blu Ray disc set ever been packaged in a DVD case.. never. The sticker that says that it includes a Blu Ray copy of the film just further deceives the everyday customer.

Why is it necessary to release to combo packs of the exact same content, in both a DVD and Blu Ray case? Its ONLY to try to trick the DVD buyers..

And don't even get me started on how Disney is prolonging the DVD release of the film until everyone buys the Blu Ray release to make matters worse and not advertising it in any way.

Please do not tell me that people aren't going to care. There WILL be lots of returns and complaints. Disney is deliberately trying to deceive these people into buying the Blu Ray versions of the film and you nor anyone else can defend against that statement.
