So, in this fabulous gay thread with fabulous gay people, let's ask a fabulous question of potentially unfabulous neutral sexuality!
What music are we listening to as of late?
I'm currently listening to Marianne Faithfull's Broken English album, which is pretty good. And I've listened to Joni Mitchell's Blue album about three times since picking it up on Thursday. And I picked up a Billie Holiday compilation on Thursday too. I've been wanting to try getting into Joni and Billie, and I definitely want to hear more.

What music you say? For me it's:
1. Various 80s movie soundtracks (song compilations, not scores) including; Footloose, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Top Gun, Caddyshack, Labyrinth, Back to the Future, The Breakfast Club and Oliver and Company.
2. Disney Theme Park music, mainly A Musical History of Disneyland (Enchanted Tiki Room especially) and parade fireworks stuff.
3. The song "More" from Dick Tracy which along with "Sooner or Later" are the only Madonna songs I listen to. Since they're by Sondheim and are from a Disney film I don't feel so bad listening to them (and "More" is just so damn catchy!).
4. Then random musical songs from Anastasia and Newsies and Finian's Rainbow and such.

Not that those songs aren't great but, um... you may have just lost your posting privileges in this thread.Flanger-Hanger wrote:The song "More" from Dick Tracy which along with "Sooner or Later" are the only Madonna songs I listen to

If it makes you feel any better Chris I like listening to Hello, Dolly! and Funny Girl with Babs, I think no one sings "I Put a Spell On You" better than Bette, and I think Judy is.....o.k. in Easter Parade (more a fan of Fred in that movie).
You'd think liking lots of MGM musicals would be enough.

Music...hmm well mainly it's Koda Kumi *points to avatar* especially her song TABOO. Aside from her, Namie Amuro, Se7en (Korean singer), DBSK and a little bit of Aida and Little Mermaid Broadway (mostly Poor Unfortunate Souls, I Want the Good Times Back and She's In Love)

Right now I'm listening to all five of Sade's albums, The Best of The Corrs and Flashdance soundtrack. And as usual, I get fixated on a couple of songs, so for Sade it's "No Ordinary Love", "By Your Side, and "Smooth Operator", "Radio" from The Corrs, and "Maniac" and "He's A Dream" from Flashdance.
Agreed. Gray's not bad either.Disneylv20 wrote:White or black goes really well with red.CampbellzSoup wrote:Hello UD gays, what color tie should I wear with my red shirt?

You can't listen to an OBC soundtrack because there is no such thing. There's an original cast recording, which is from a stage show, or a soundtrack, which is from a movie. If it were a soundtrack, it wouldn't be live theater. There, I said it!
Flangy, I enjoy Babs singing "Hello, Dolly!" too. On pure performances, it's my second favorite recording of the show (the best is still Pearl Bailey's recording... that was just great). I would like the soundtrack to the movie more if Michael Crawford was not featured so often. His squeaky voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
And it's about time we have another member of Team Pantsless. I knew I couldn't be the only person who finds pants horrible and constricting. Down with pants!

She is awesome. I saw a video of her singing "So Long Deary" and it was amazing. I'm glad the Broadway Deluxe Collector's Edition for the original cast recording includes some of her recordings for that show. I don't mind Crawford so much, but between Dolly! and Condorman it just gives me one more reason not to take Phantom seriously.SpringHeelJack wrote:Flangy, I enjoy Babs singing "Hello, Dolly!" too. Man, something's in my throat...
Anyhow, yes, that is the one to beat, IMO. I can't do Carol Channing. She may have been amazing on stage, but when I hear her start quacking over the dancing waiters in "Hello, Dolly!", I shudder and vomit a little.

Re: The Gay Thread
I never had one of those. I already said my crushes. I liked Dimitri, too, I was just more attracted to the others.mooky_7_sa wrote:Action figure? Seriously?Disney Duster wrote:I liked reading everybody's. But no Disney crushes to speak of? No one really liked their Aladdin action figure?
"I don't follow gay stereotypes"
Oh, how naive. You all have revealed you do very gay things even though you say that. You think you're music isn't gay just because it's not Streisand or Minelli?
I'm quite happy you're all actually gay. It would really bother me if you were into beating up guys playing football but claimed you were romantically attracted to them, too.
Well, I'm off to cackle in triumph.

The Gay Thread
I didn't say anything about football being gay. You're crazy.
