HI Neal,
Oliver & Company will only be released on DVD, not Blu-ray. I’ve sent notice to Blu-ray.com about correcting the details.

Mac McLean is a legitimate source/representative at Disney. I spoke with him on the phone and via e-mail in 2006 to schedule and conduct an interview between UltimateDisney.com and Jim Kammerud (director of The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, and 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure). It was part of the promotion/build-up/publicity/whathaveyou for the then-forthcoming The Fox and the Hound 2.
I wouldn't think he'd be wrong about this, he does work for Disney after all. After all, the press release does NOT mention a Blu-Ray release, that no online stores have a Blu-Ray listing, and that there's already two confirmed replies from Disney that says a Blu-Ray's not coming or is even scheduled.
So...perhaps you have a serious problem with being wrong.

I was just trying to help. If I turn out wrong I'll admit my mistake. But now I emailed Disney and they said it's so wrong they're going to email the site to change it. I did it to help bring this resolution.
Bluray.com is, as said before, a fan site. No one is perfect. Whoever runs that site may have been mistaken this one time. It happens.

Not really.. I don't have evidence to tell me I am wrong just yet.. I have something saying I am right... So guess again...Escapay wrote:Mac McLean is a legitimate source/representative at Disney. 1. A press release with no mention of the words Blu or Rayhalfbreed3614 wrote:I don't have evidence to tell me I am wrong just yet..
2. Reputable online sellers with no listing for a Blu-Ray release
3. Confirmation from two Disney sources that a Blu-Ray is not scheduled for the movie

Looking back at my comment I hope I didn't come off as rude.. To be honest you are probably right but I am hoping it's true, and If I am proven wrong then I'm fine with that. As we all know Disney is unpredictable so who really knows.. And to be honest *if* it where to be releases on Blu Ray I personally don't think they would confirm that information through email. But I am curious, Is Nemo really coming out on Blu then? Nobody has really said anything about that..Neal wrote:I was just trying to help. If I turn out wrong I'll admit my mistake. Bluray.com is, as said before, a fan site. No one is perfect. Whoever runs that site may have been mistaken this one time. It happens.
I usually find fan sites (especially with music artists) tend to post alot of information long before it's official announcement, so there is where I get my mentality that fan sites can be reliable... As far as reputable online retailers.. All the page says is 2009, that does not in anyway mean this is in the next few months, it could be a year from now so no a online retailer would not have it listed just yet if it was a bit off now would it? For example "The Wizard of Oz" is coming to Blu in 2009 and the info page on bluray.com just simply says 2009, and I can't imagine retailer's having it listed yet since there is not confirmed date, just the year.... Also another note about online retails. I cannot even count the many times I have been waiting for a release and even up till a week before it comes out they still have NO information.. Kinda sucks.. All I am trying to say is none of us really know for sure just yet.. And until they remove it from the site I will still that there is a possibility of a release sometime next year...Escapay wrote:1. And I don't have anything against it coming to Blu. If it gets a solid release with a better picture quality than the last DVD release and some new features, more power to Disney.
Even though I don't have Blu, it'd be nice if Disney did acknowledge some of their less successful features with new releases.

It's so annoying when someone makes an honest mistake and they get attacked by people trying to act like they know everything and proving them wrong. The original poster said they found a link suggesting Oliver And Co. would be coming to Bluray... (which according to the link was a valid assumption.) There is no need whatsoever to go on for 2 pages to prove them wrong. E-mailing and calling Disney and then posting your responses as proof is childish.
It drives me insane when one or two board members try and take control of an entire message board by acting like they know every detail about every subject. Get a life. There is more to living than proving everyone wrong every time you have the opportunity. It just makes you look like a weak person.
If someone asks for your opinion, give it to them. If someone states information that is incorrect, politely correct them. But going on about it page after page acting like you personally know Disney staff because you have spoken with them via phone or e-mail is beyond annoying.
A simple "I e-mailed Disney and it looks like Bluray.com posted some incorrect information, Oliver & Co. will just be a DVD release for now" would have sufficed.

People did. It was halfbreed3614 who continued for the whole three pages to insist that they were wrong and that he could still be right. Just the fact that he says "You have a SERIOUS problem with being wrong, don't you?" proves it. He would not listen to anyone, even if Neal had to resort to reposting an e-mail.JDCB1986 wrote:If someone states information that is incorrect, politely correct them.
My post about Mac was in support of Neal and his e-mail because halfbreed3614 sounded like he wouldn't take any e-mail "proof" from Disney seriously. Mac is one of Luke's correspondents/contacts when UD gets the opportunity to interview someone from Disney. He's had contact with Luke much more than I have, and I was simply supporting Neal's post by confirming that Mac would be a reliable source, and not just some random Disney intern responding to e-mails with a form letter. I never had a need to mention that I have contacted Mac in the past, however the situation here was probably the only reason to as it would help support Neal's e-mail and post. My post of "Mac is a legitimate source/etc." is hardly page after page, and hardly in a haughty "I know someone who works in Disney, so I know what I'm talking about" way.JDCB1986 wrote:going on about it page after page acting like you personally know Disney staff because you have spoken with them via phone or e-mail is beyond annoying.

Well, if my old cow Bessie was still alive we could ask her. She could always tell who was right. How do you ask? Well, that's easy. See, Bessie had a 6th sense about her... we would always have the two people in question bake brownies. How would that help? Well, Bessie always preferred an honest baker. So the person's brownies Bessie liked best was right!

Ok, well If I end up being wrong them let me look stupid.. I agree, people didn't need to go on and on to prove me wrong, I was just posting what I found.. Also I can do without your attitude.. What is it with people here?Escapay wrote:People did. It was halfbreed3614 who continued for the whole three pages to insist that they were wrong and that he could still be right. What is it with you here? No one ever got mad or short with you. We didn't immediatley go "OMFG you littlul tard, thatz not coming out on blu-ray. idiot! lulz!111!11"
We tried to be polite and ask you to consider that you could be wrong but all you kept doing was insist you were absolutely right and that was final. You couldn't even budge about maybe being wrong. I emailed Disney not to prove myself right, but to get the answer whether I was right or wrong.
This whole time you insisted we were all wrong and stupid, never giving us a chance.
So really, nothing wrong with us at all.

Actually there is plenty wrong. I simply posted a link say "Hey look" and not a single person was like "ok, let's see" Just 3 pages of trying to prove me wrong and all the "rolls eyes" graphics.. I am willing to say I am probably wrong but until the info is taken down I think it's correct..Neal wrote:What is it with you here? No one ever got mad or short with you.
