I think you're right - it is one of Flounder's kids. (Yeah, it's odd to note how much Flounder changes within all three films - from musical rebel (TLM:AB) to scared guppy (TLM) to Big Poppa Fish (TLM2) . . . yikes.)

Oh, on HERE, Disney had added the new trailer for TLM2 (the same one from the TLM:AB DVD), a nice summary (which will probably be on the back) plus some info about the bonus features:

- New! Deleted Song . . . now with a title! It's called "Gonna Get My Wish" (I'm thinking either Melody singing about becoming a mermaid or Morgana getting power . . . place bets now?)
- The TLM2 Storybook with Jodi Benson narrating (carry-over)
- "What Am I?" Sea Creature Game (carry-over)
- "The Little Mermaid II Underwater Mer-Venture Challenge Game" (new for the SE, but I don't expect much from it . . .)
- And More . . . (that's what it says, anyway)

Also, I found some photos on there as well (ones that actually make Ariel look older for once!) - if you can't see them, I'll post them here, okay?

Here's the summary from the site:
Disney's under the sea classic continues in this new Special Edition of THE LITTLE MERMAID: RETURN TO THE SEA, the magical sequel to one of the most celebrated animated films of all time! Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder and all your favorite characters from the original movie splash into a wonderful adventure overflowing with more unforgettable characters, fin-tapping songs and an exciting, action-packed story.
Ariel and Eric must hide their precious daughter Melody's mermaid heritage to protect her from Ursula's revengeful sister Morgana. But when the lure of the sea proves too strong for Melody, they call upon King Triton and all the good creatures on land and under the waves to help rescue their daughter and restore harmony to the seas. Dive in for more fun with the all-new Mer-Venture Challenge Game, trivia and more! Again and again, your entire family will share the wonder and excitement in THE LITTLE MERMAID II: RETURN TO THE SEA Special Edition.

Oh, if only the cover looked better than it currently does . . . *sigh*

Thanks for the update, Juuchan17! And for the people who, like me, have a browser that takes FOREVER to load the over-cluttered Disney website, I uploaded all 14 pictures for you guys. :) I'm actually surprised to see these almost a decade after the original release. Anyway, I'll also talk about the ones that have been seen before, and stuff. :)

Note: a cropped version of the last picture was featured on the website (the original website. I know right? lol)

As for the new song, it's obviously Melody. Villains don't wish. If not, they seem too relateable (is that a word?)... A part of me wishes it were for Morgana (since even Marina del Ray had a song), but the bigger part of me loves that it's probably for Melody (since I think Tara Strong is amazing- of course, nowhere near Jodi Benson, but still great)! :D

And about Flounder's kid being on the cover, I don't like it. As nasty and gross as the TLM2 Flounder is, I think they should embrace it. If they wanted to do it to his character, then they should stick to that decision. If not, just don't include him on the cover at all. Seriously.

On another note, I decided that I'm going to sell my TLM and AB and hopefully get the trilogy pack for Christmas or something. The boxart is SO BEAUTIFUL.

Thanks again for the news! :)

I've actually already seen al the pictures before. If you ask me, they are horrible. They are all of-model and ugly. And wrong too. I mean, look at the one where Melody is running from Ariel. Her hair is loose, while in the movie, from the moment Ariel 'banned' the sea out of her life her hair was put up. (Which I think is nice to see, her hair is put up until she gets the change to be back into the sea and transforms in a mermaid once again)

The one where Ariel holds baby Melody: ugly. Her face.. I mean, do you know?
The one with Morgana and Melody and the map of Atlantica is just... I don't have words for it. It looks like my little brother made it in Paint.

The ones that are decent to me are the ones where Morgana transforms Melody in a mermaid (that doesn't happens like that, she doesn't "wave" with her arm), the one with mermaid Ariel and mermaid Melody, and the ones with Melody as a mermaid.

I don't get it. Why does Disney releases such ugly pictures? Just take screencaps, even that's beter than this crap.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread, since I wasn't planning on double-dipping on this title...but I was bored and figured that I'd read some of the newer posts. I actually really like the music in TLM2, and am curious about the deleted song. Will it be presented with storyboards? Surely it won't be presented with completed animation...

If anyone knows anything about the deleted song, I'm curious!!!

And about the cover- I think that the angle Flounder is shown at, he very well could be adult Flounder and not his child...that's what I thought, anyway!

Vermin Friends,I think that all of the picture were released before,I think they are from some storybook,I also remember I have seen the one with Ariel turns into a mermaid in the old Little Mermaid II website.
I wonder when the new website will be lunched.

Looking at the pictures just remind me how bad the animation was. But I will still pick this up when it comes out. And depending on how much the trilogy pack is vs. the indiviual film, I will probably pick up the trilogy and give my other LM dvds to my friend. Though it sucks that they are just inlcuding each film indivually instead of a fold out like the UK boxset.

*PICS - LOLZ*

No problem! Thanks for snagging the pics, Vermin Friends! *glomps happily* You beat me to it!

Personally, I like the Morgana/Triton fight pic the best out of all of the unreleased ones (Why wasn't this concept in the film? That would have been an awesome scene! GAH, Disney.), but yeah, most of the other pictures are really . . . awkward looking (although I have to admit it - most of the artwork looks better than the actual movie altogether.).

There is a couple of pictures that I recently found online (I forgot where . . . but I did use Google Image!). One has Morgana showing her true colors to Ariel, Melody and a very awkwardly-drawn Flounder: LINKED

And another with a malicious-looking Morgana just chilling (HA - get it? Chilling? - If you've seen the movie, you should get the joke!) in her lair with Undertow: LINKED

As for the new song, I think that makes sense. However, I only said Morgana because she wants to get the trident so that she can finally do something better than Ursula and get back at Triton somehow. (I haven't seen the film in a long while, so the innards of the story and script are pretty forgettable.) But yeah, I think you're right - it's most likely a Melody song. (Perhaps they ditched it when they agreed with the Melody/Ariel tune, "For A Moment" . . . hahaha.)

blackcauldron85: If I learn anything else about the song, you know I'll spill it here first! (That is unless UD beats me to it there also!) I'm hoping that it'll be like the "Return to Neverland" Deleted Scenes (which had a mix of both storyboards and actual animation, both pencil tests and finished colored goodness), but meh.

As for the cover, I'm saddened that that cover artists in charge aren't making it similar to the previous TLM film covers (honestly, I'd love it to be different or more like the original release cover.), because right now it looks like total crap. I could draw one that looks way better.

But I think you guys can tell that I'm obviously crazy about this release. *points to icon and siggy*

Most of the pictures are really in the movie.
There is Triton who arrives in his 'car', and there is Morgana with the trident, but just not at the same moment. Just the same with the Triton/Arielpic, when he transforms her, where is the boat?
Morgana doesnt change Melody with 'the wave of her hand'.
Triton never says 'hey' to Melody, Eric and Ariel on land. (they are on land, and certainly NOT on the boat)
Ariel and Melody never swim together as mermaids.
That's about it.
And they are ugly. Very ugly.

I found this website with colorpages of the little Mermaid II on them, some are very nice.

Well, I guess so . . . but they're just not exactly portrayed that way within the film.

And actually, the only time Ariel and Melody are face-to-face as mermaids is when Melody is about to hand the trident to Morgana and they say "You're a mermaid?!" in unison. (Although I love the picture of them together . . . so I guess this means the cover is wrong too, yes?)

Actually, that is the site where I found the bigger images of some of the released art. I snagged all of the coloring pages too (which, sadly, look much better than mostly all of the film). Thanks for the link, WillytheDino!

You are awesome. Although I'd like to see a couple of new wallpapers made for the re-release, at least. Thanks!

Too bad they won't release character sheets or something for TLM2 (then again, did they even use them?).

OH SNAP! But agreed. :D lol You're so excited for the release, but you bash the animation so much! lol

I would love to see some character sheets. Maybe some will pop up on one of the artist's websites or something.

And thanks for the 800x600 wallpapers, mooky_7_sa! When the original website came out, my family was still using dial-up, so I'd literally be spending HOURS on that stupid site. lmao! Thanks again! :)

Can someone please confirm that this is getting a UK release, because it's on the American Amazon site but it's not on the UK Amazon site or Play.com which is usually really good for DVDs etc. and now I'm getting worried that it might only be being released in a Region 1 version!
I love The Little Mermaid and Ariel

Haha, thank you! I too hope they'll grant us with new wallpapers (I have some sort of OCD when it comes to Disney wallpapers  )

You're welcome! I just wish I had them in higher resolution, but back then I had a 15" monitor, so I never used to download wallpapers of any other resolution than 800x600 :( .

Shouldn't there already be a new website? It comes out in a little more than a month.

I know. It's hard to draw the characters (mainly Melody) when her design changes so often! (For Ariel, I use the original or AB for reference. She looks much better!) Although, I do like Ariel's up-hairdo for most of her human scenes (I don't get how her hair magically undoes when her father returns her into a mermaid though . . .).

I've only seen a couple of nice sketches of Ariel w/ baby Melody and a mermaid-Melody, but that's it . . . I should link them once I post them up or something . . .

Only if you feel that a deleted song and a new game are worth an upgrade. Personally, I'm a big fan of The Little Mermaid. The first is my second favorite Disney movie and I loved Ariel's Beginning, not to mention that I find Return to the Sea to be a decent sequel, so I'm selling my original copy on ebay and putting the money towards the upgrade.
