In honor of the memory of one of my favorite actor's passing, my avatar is one of my favorite pictures of Heath Ledger.

In a shocking move, Gromit is NOT in my avatar! But instead, it's The Doctor! Yay!

Image
Gromit will return when I find a new icon for him to carry, or when I get tired of The Doctor. Whichever happens first. But I'm rather fond of The Doctor, so he may stick around for awhile.

Don't you have a Gromit Easter one? Or you could have him hold Pip from Enchanted.

I'm not really in the mood to celebrate Easter via my avatar this year, but the two suggestions are priceless! maybe I'll attach bunny ears to The Doctor and have him hold Gromit and Pip! :P

My new avatar, while not Disney related, is a very special avatar. This is an actual picture of the DVDJunkie taken in July of 1967 for Billboard Magazine, when I was named Number One Disc Jockey in Santa Barbara, California, according to the Radio Pulse surveys of Disc Jockeys at that time. There were over 30 radio stations in the area, and to be named number one in my time slot, which was 3 pm to 7 pm (Drive Time) was quite an honor. Just thought I would share the picture with you. I just discovered it in a photo album at my daughter's home the other night and thought I would share.

Wow, dvdjunkie! This is my first glimpse of you! You look very young in that photo ... in your twenties I suppose. It's kind of fascinating to look back in time into the life of one of our UD members. :thumb:

Oh, and by the way, do you like your Portrait Series avatar? I just had to ask you. :P

This is another thread that I was having problems finding for some reason- I've wanted to,for a while now, tell Julian that I like your depiction of dvdjunkie!!!

And, Bill, that's so cool! 41 years later, congratulations! That's a big achievement!
(At first, I thought that that was a picture of Rivers Cuomo from Weezer... )

I was so surprised to find that photo in an album at my daughter's house. She said that she found it while we were moving in California one time, and since she has always been "daddy's girl" she wanted to keep in a safe place. I had always wondered what happened to it, it is a pretty decent picture of me, I think.

A lot of people think that it is a picture of Charlie Martin Smith (Toad from American Grafitti), and that is what my younger (?) pictures look like. I was 27 years old at the time of that particular picture, so if you do your math you will figure out that I am currently 67 years old, and I don't surf anymore Julian.

Wow!! I do like the portrait series Julian. You have truly captured the spirit of my years. Although I do have a full head of hair still, it is gray, but as far as any more 'hanging ten', that is a thing of the past.

Thanks Julian, you have outdone yourself. I like it!!!!

Are you kidding me? Type in Golden Globes and I get an Emmy?

For future reference, I don't watch any Award Shows other than the Academy Awards (and last year at the SAG Awards). So, it was an honest mistake...

EDIT: It's been modified. :)
