Yay! I'm happy you got it and really hope that you enjoy it. Let me know what you think of it (either here, in the AG thread, email, etc.). Yay!Prince Ali wrote:Amy Grant - Greatest Hits
Which one do you have, Matt? I'm assuming Greatest Hits | 1986-2004? That was a great CD. Unfortunately, it won't be in print much longer. That's the reason for the new Greatest Hits CD. Amy just switched record labels and since her previous label exclusively owned that CD, the new record label wanted to put out a new Greatest Hits CD to replace that one. Amy's management also wanted to have a Greatest Hits album that included both Christian and pop songs; this is the first CD to do that.Matt wrote:I don't get why Amy Grant came out with another Greatest Hits CD. Her other one was just fantastic! I have the DVD and love it.
It's so uplifting.
Yeah, I have that one. Ohhh, I thought it had all her greatest hits on it lol. The DVD didn't have any of her Christian songs?AwallaceUNC wrote:Which one do you have, Matt? Not quite. You'd need a 4 disc set (at least) to house all of her songs that have gone Top 40 on either pop or Christian charts (and make it 5 if you include Christmas songs). The Greatest Hits 1986-2004 CD and DVD were both commissioned by A&M records, which was Amy's label for pop/mainstream music at the time (she had a separate record label for Christian music distribution). Therefore, that CD and DVD focused only on her singles that were released to pop radio. It was dated 86-04 because (A) 1986 was the year of her previous Greatest Hits CD and (B) 1985 is the year that she first charted on pop radio. So that CD and DVD overlook all of her music prior to 1986 and the majority of her Christian music.Matt wrote:Yeah, I have that one. Ohhh, I thought it had all her greatest hits on it lol.
