I did get it, and I've found that it works ok with the GameCube controller I'm using (a wireless), but for that precise touch I think I'm going to have to go and finally buy a Classic Controller.

Not to fussed with the WiiConnect24 feature at the moment, but I am considering getting a wireless connection eventually so I may not need to worry. The USB Connector was a cheap and effective way of accessing VC games, my main interest, in the short term.

I'm loving the Classic Controller. It just feels right when playing games on the Virtual Console. Plus, it's nice to be able to sit further away than the GameCube controller allows, since you don't have to be wired into the Wii with it.

You will certainly want to get a wireless router. It's great to be able to take advantage of WiiConnect24. I know they aren't doing a great deal with it, right now, but, I believe it will be awesome once they get more games out, and everything up! I bought a Netgear wireless router, that only cost me $39.99. It was easy to set-up, and easy to connect. It's also very fast.

The next game I'm looking forward to purchasing for Wii is Sonic and the Secret Rings. That game just looks awesome, and there's alot of great things being said about it. That comes out on Feb. 20th!

With my DS Lite, I've been addicted to playing Mario Kart DS online, against other people from around the world. It's so great to be able to race against other people in this game!

Well, a brand new channel is up on the Wii network...

...The Everybody Votes Channel.

Pretty much allows you to do what it says you can. You can register individual Miis with the system, and each one is allowed one vote per question. There are both regional polls and global ones. They are usually multiple choice answers, with two options.

At the moment, the questions are quite fluffy. The going global concern is "Do you prefer cats or dogs?" To answer, you click and drag your Mii onto the preferred option.

Simple now, but I'm hoping this will result in more options in the future. For example, "Which VC title would you prefer...". Given the system allows you to suggest questions, it is entirely possible.

Yes, right now it's quite a simple thing, but, the possibilities are endless. The thing that most excited me about this channel was that it was a complete surprise. It wasn't announced to be in the works, or anything. Nintendo just made it available. That really surprised me, and gives me hope that they will do this sort of thing on a regular basis. There are so many different things that they can do with the Channels system. One that I would LOVE to see is a Nintendo DS Download Station. It would be awesome to just power up the Wii, click that channel, power up your DS/DS Lite, and be able to download DS Demos right from the Wii. It would sure beat going to a store, and having to do it, there. How about a Pizza Delivery Channel, that would list all of the Pizza delivery places in the area? You could pick the one you want, and order it, all from the Wii! There are so many possibilities!

So, what is the next game everyone is looking forward to on Wii? I'm so excited about Sonic and the Secret Rings! That game looks amazing, and word has been very good on the title, with several sources saying that it is the BEST Sonic 3-D title created for ANY system! It comes out next Tuesday!

I've been hearing rumors on gamefaqs that there's supposed to be a Resident Evil game coming to the Wii. I don't have one yet :( but I'm going to save my money to get one soon. I'm also looking forward to the Super Smash Bros. that's supposed to come out for it as well. :D

Australia gets SNES R-TYPE III™ The Third Lightning and NES Excitebike™ and Kirby's Adventure™ today as well.

As for the Resident Evil game, I'm looking forward to it. I've barely scraped the surface of the GC version of Res Evil 4, but it is brilliant. I can't wait for a decent shooter using the Wii-mote. Hadn't heard that title though...

Yes! This is something that I've been thinking would be great to see. I'm really waiting for the Wii/DS functionality to show itself, and programs downloadable for the DS would be brilliant. Imagine combining the VC and the DS - download classic games and play them on your portable!

Wii gets new Virtual Console games, today, in America!

From Nintendo's Press Release:

http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=11455

WII-KLY UPDATE: FOUR NEW CLASSIC GAMES ANNOUNCED FOR WII SHOP CHANNEL

Feb. 19, 2007

Today Nintendo adds four new classic games to the popular Wii™ video game system's Wii Shop Channel. The games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Donkey Kong™ Country (Super NES®, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): Donkey Kong Country is an incredible island adventure, and the first game to feature Donkey Kong's sidekick, Diddy Kong®. Challenged by the crazed tribe of reptilian Kremlings, the Kongs face their cunning adversaries armed with lightning-quick moves, chest-pounding muscle and awesome aerial acrobatics. The duo also gets help from a host of friends and family, from Funky Kong™, Cranky Kong™ and Candy Kong™ to Rambi™ the rhino, Expresso™ the ostrich, Enguarde™ the swordfish, Squawks the parrot and Winky the frog. This game has more than 30 levels, plus dozens of hidden caves and secret rooms - more than 100 areas in all. Help the Kongs recover their stolen banana hoard!

The Legend of Kage (NES®, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points): This classic ninja-action game first appeared in arcades in 1985 and became instantly popular. As the Iga ninja named "Kage," players embark on an action-packed quest as they move toward a magic castle where the Princess "Kiri" is held captive by "Yohshirou Yukikusa." To stay alive, players move vertically and horizontally through forest and castle environments and execute massive jumps, all the while using throwing-star knives and a sword to take down hordes of enemies.

New Adventure Island (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): On peaceful Adventure Island, the islanders are celebrating the wedding of Master Higgins and Tina, the "Miss Island Queen." Suddenly, the celebration is interrupted by the appearance of Baron Bronsky and his henchmen, who kidnap Tina and the island children. Master Higgins must set out to rescue the children and his beloved Tina in this side-scrolling action game. Throw hatchets and boomerangs, hop on skateboards and guide Master Higgins safely to the goal in each area. New Adventure Island consists of seven exciting stages. Each stage is split into four areas, with a boss waiting at the end of the final area. Defeat all the bosses and release the kidnapped children. And waiting in the castle of the final stage - the wicked Baron Bronsky. Help Master Higgins defeat him and reclaim his bride.

Streets of Rage™ (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): The city was once a happy, peaceful place...until one day, a powerful secret criminal organization took over. This vicious syndicate soon had control of the government and even the police force. The city has become a center of violence and crime where no one is safe. Amid this turmoil, a group of determined young police officers has sworn to clean up the city. Among them are Adam Hunter, Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding. They've decided to put their lives on the line and take back their city through their special hand-to-hand combat abilities. They are willing to risk anything, even their lives, on the Streets of Rage.

I'll be downloading Donkey Kong Country, later today, for sure! I can't wait!

awesome. Does a gamecube controller work for a game like this? I still have to connect my wii to the internet, but will do so soon.

I'm almost finished with Twilight Princess. LOVE that game. It's amazing.

I remember really enjoying Donkey Kong™ Country back in the day (although the sequels were even better). Really looking forward to be able to download it.
