but also, is Giselle gonna be a Disney Princess? even though shes not animated the whole time? it says in the corner of her toy box that she is a Disney Princess. i think thats good, i was worried that disney would only give a half-effort to the promotion of the film.

i really hope the packaging for the Enchanted Tales DVD isnt all girly; I want to see it because Aladdin's my favourite movie (so a new Jasmine story sounds great), and I like pretty much all the Disney movies the princesses are from, because theyre not gender-specific. But I'm hesitant to see anything labelled Disney Princesses, due to the girls-only implications the title gives off... but i may have to ignore that, because this dvd series looks pretty good. any other guys in the same boat? (animation isnt the best, but brand-new stories are a good thing)

We're gonna see SnowWhite in a new animated episode in "Enchanted Tales"? That is , the very first time ever she gets a new animated story since 1937! That's big news!
And YAY! More Ariel! Believe me, even if they gave me a tone of Ariel episodes it still wouldn't be enough for me!

Ok, let me try to figure this out. The first Enchanted Tales volume is now being called "Follow Your Dreams" (how original...). Now, we figured out that all the Aurora footage we've see thus far is from two separate stories, and with the new subtitle, it seems the stuff about Aurora making royal decisions will be the one featured. Jasmine will definitely be on this since her story also fits with this new theme. Things get muddled in relation to Belle, though. She now supposedly will be included in Volume 1. From what we've seen, her story deals with kindness, which is the old theme. So, one of several things must be going on:

1. Belle is getting a new story that we haven't seen any footage of.

2. Belle's story will be the what we've seen already, and it was/is being marketed at a different angle.

3. The writer of that article made an assumption based on all the trailers and ads, and there won't actually be a Belle story on this, afterall. The only thing is the Belle and Aurora gold dolls are featured next to each other at the Toy Fair. Why do this if it's only going to be Aurora and Jasmine (who also are paired next to each other down the shelf)?

Personally, I think we'll see all three featured, which would make sense from a running time stand point. Disney's DTV productions average between 70 to 80 minutes. Having three stories would average about 24 minutes for each, which is ideal considering this is like a TV series. This also explains why Snow White, Cinderella, and Ariel are being showcased so soon: with three stories per volume, you've already gone through the main princess line in just two DVDs. If Disney doesn't intend on repeating characters until each one has been given a story, that means we won't see the Phillip birthday story for Aurora until Volume three (and by then, maybe the story will get a complete re-do). Of course, Disney is so unpredictable that we could be way off (maybe all the Aurora footage we've seen is from one story, though I'm having a hard time swallowing the fact that she gets two new songs in a 24 minute story. If it's just her and Jasmine, though, that'd make it about 35 minutes per story, which I guess is easier to buy the fact that one story could have two songs and two marketable morals from it).

And...wow...I can't believe I'm analyzing the marketing campaign of a Disney Princess series...

The Aurora and Belle dolls are for the Enchanted Tales. The Aurora doll on the carriage with Jasmine is another doll that is already out in the market. Such Aurora doll and the Jasmine doll with her are part of the new Disney Princess doll series/collection called "Gem Princess"...before such collection it was "Glitter Princess" and before that was "Sparkling Princess" or something like that.

Well it looks like the Disney Princess Line has been upgraded from Pink to Gold. I love the new gold theme, and all the Enchanted Tales merchandise. This was really shocking news for me, because I thought that I knew about every twist and turn Disney was going to take with Enchanted Tales, never in my wildest dreams did I think it was going to be a whole new marketing campaign. I am truly excited by this news. I can't wait until September.

I am currently in the process of creating a fan website for Disney Princess Enchanted Tales (or whatever it’s called now). On the site I will include all the information we know so far as well as video clips, trailers, and music videos from Enchanted Tales. I will also make another video on voice comparisons between all the known Jasmine and Aurora voices in singing and merchandise so that we can get a better understanding on the voices that will be used for the Enchanted Tales DVD line. I'll open the site within the next two weeks.

Disneykid I agree on your theories and don't worry your not the only one who analyzes the marketing campaign of a Disney Princess series. lol

True. Disney Duster you hit the nail on the head. I am 17years old, a senior boy in High School and I love the Disney Princesses . There is no reason to feel different because you’re a guy.

That's good that there will be a site that covers everything known, I;m really interested in this, as I dont believe Disney has ever done anything short of full sequels or TV series' (or a mix of the two) except i believe one of the princess DVDs had an introduction wiht new snow white animation, only because they didnt have enough of her to lip over an old one. I hope eventually they expand the Disney Heroes "franchise" (if you could even call it that).

Also: I just realised if Giselle is a new official Disney Princess, she may get a segment in the Enchanted Tales series, despite her only being animated in 10 minutes of the film, and animated by an outside studio. I think it's quite probable she'll appear on lunchboxes and backpacks along with Ariel and them fairly soon, though. This makes me much more excited to see Enchanted, having now seen caps of the animated section.

That's possible, but I think they're from the same song. You can briefly see Iago and Carpet in the same shot as Jasmine and the painter. I still think each story will only contain one new song because if they're about 24 minutes each like I predicted, they need as much time as they can get to move the story along dialogue-wise. Then again, the first two Pooh shorts crammed a bunch of songs into their respective 25-minute running times...

UPDATE: I'm now 100% positive Aurora's got two separate stories. Compare the Aurora/Belle trailer to the Aurora/Jasmine one. Both feature a shot of a book opening to reveal Aurora's story...but both shots are different. Look:

Yeah, but it's common for characters to move around during a single song. In fact, that's pretty much the norm nowadays (as opposed to older films where an entire song would take place in the same room). It's possible for Carpet to pick Jasmine off of the balcony during the song and drop her off at the fountain. Who knows, I could be wrong. We'll never know till the DVD comes out (or if the press release specifies the songs).

I have two theories.

1: They want to catch Aurora up to the the other princesses who have (except for Snow White) all had sequels.

2: Aurora may not be that popular as a standalone Princess as far as sales go (I often see her and Belle, her with Cinderella, always other Princesses with her), and they want to increase her popularity by pairing her stories with two already successful princesses (Belle and Jasmine).

Actually, it's probably both. Or neither.

I agree with Fantasmic in that Aurora is never "alone" We often see Ariel, Jasmine, Cinderella and Belle alone. Snow White and Aurora are always paired. I personally do not like Snow White, so I am excited that they are bringing Aurora into the light.

I am so excited about this release and I to am a guy (turning 18 in a month no less!). But I have and always will love the Disney Princesses.

If I had to do favourites Ariel is definately first with Aurora coming in second.

I'd really have to have a sit down and I think to decide which order the other Princesses come in but I'm pretty sure Cinderella would be my third favourite.

That's why this year will ROCK Disney Princess wise for me because we have Cinderella III, TLM III and TWO Stories featuring Aurora.

Volume Two: Belle and Cinderella (arguably the most embraced princesses whose films were at the center of their respective eras)

Cinderella was hardly at the center of her 'era'. I always view Cinderella as being the beginning of the Disney revival in the 50's, which I always think runs to around Sleeping Beauty. All the films from this era have a very classic styling.

To me, the Disney era's are:-

Late 30's early 40's:-

Snow White, Pinnochio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi

Mid to late 40's :-

The Package films, Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros, Make Mine Music, Fun & Fancy Free, Melody Time, Ichabod & Mr. Toad

The 50's renaissance :-

Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty

The 60's and 70's:-

101 Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone, The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, Robin Hood, Winnie the Pooh, The Rescuers

The dark 80's:-

The Fox & the Hound, The Black Cauldron, Basil the Great Mouse Detective, Oliver and Co.

The new renaissance:-

The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers Down Under (a bit of a holdover from the previous era), Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King

The diversification:-

I think the films are generally regarded as having declined in quality, due to box office receipts declining, and perhaps over familiarity spawned by the big 4 - but I think this next period represented a really diverse run of movies both thematically and in style which includes things such as Hunchback, Hercules, Pocahontas, Lilo and Stitch, Brother Bear, Tarzan, Atlantis, Fantasia 2000 - the only problem is, because there wasn't really a much of a house style within the studio's during this period, it's difficult to define where it ends, and it just kind of fizzles out with Home on the Range and Chicken Little.

Sorry for wandering off a bit off topic there. I was just trying to demonstrate that Cinders isn't really the centre of any era, and ended up rambling on a bit.
