So, Lazario, what is it about this Goldfrapp? I have never heard anything by this person/group.

Apparently, Goldfrapp is very popular in the UK. There have been several pictures of Madonna carrying the CD around with her. She also stated that she loves Goldfrapp. Is this a person, or a group. What kind of music do they make? Are they good?

I was thinking about that very same thing myself, well we know Madonna has a lot of taste and she's always been up on other cutting edge artists - she's also a big fan of Massive Attack, Bjork, and Kylie Minogue. But Goldfrapp more than anything:

This album, Black Cherry was basically the *American Life* that Madonna wishes she'd made. Released the same year, it was a little flop in the U.S. because it was so different from her first album, Felt Mountain. Anyway, now they've retired to making albums in Europe only. But I think it's impossible for people who loved Music and American Life to not like Black Cherry. With songs like "Strict Machine", "Crystalline Green", "Twist", "Train", and "Tiptoe" - I'm surprised that Goldfrapp wasn't a huge deal in the mainstream. It easily trumped all the Britney, Christina, and Jessica factory produced. It's as cutting edge as it gets without being straightforward techno. At least check out the song samples at Amazon.com. Or if you have Napster, download the free files of "Strict Machine", "Crystalline Green", and "Twist". I really hope you have Napster, you're in for a treat.

Thanks for the information, Lazario!

I'm going to go and listen to the samples on Amazon or iTunes. I don't have Napster (as I use iTunes). I'll let you know what I think. I'm excited to hear them.

Okay, here's my opinion, based upon 30 second song samples off of iTunes.

I LOVED what I heard of the album, Black Cherry. Especially the three you mentioned. "Twist" is the one that stood out, the most. I want to hear those three, in full. The rest of Black Cherry sounded awesome, as well.

I decided to listen to the song samples of Felt Mountain. Although I love the sound of her voice, the songs all seemed too slow, to me. I have to be in a mood to listen to songs that are slow. Lately, I'm in the dancing kind of mood. So, I would have to listen to the whole thing, with the lights turned down, and relaxing.

Finally, I listened to the song samples of the Number 1 release (which I am assuming are a few songs from their forthcoming release in America), and I liked what I heard, there.

So, I may end up buying Black Cherry. I really liked what I heard. Thanks for the information. I always enjoy new music experiences. Especially when they are good!
